Here’s a sweet throwback from years ago with my crafty kiddos. 
 
This easy dragon craft is fun to make as a themed kids activity for story time, parties, and family movie night. 
 
 


What you need: 

1 cardboard paper towel roll 
glue
1 piece colored construction paper
2 large pom poms
2 small pom poms
2 googly eyes
strips of red, orange, yellow tissue paper
 

Directions:

1. Start with a large paper towel roll (empty of towels, obviously). Choose a colored sheet of paper and cut it to the length of the roll. 
2. Cover with glue ( I used a glue stick) and wrap the paper around the roll, smoothing down to cover it. 
3. Now glue the two small pom poms side by side to one end of the roll. These will be the dragon nose.
4. Next, glue the two larger pom poms side by side on the other end. These are the eyes. 
5. Add a dot of glue to each of the larger pom poms and press on the googly eyes. 
6. Finally, add glue to the ends of each of the tissue paper strips and attach to the inside of the paper roll under the dragon’s nose.
7. Continue to glue on the strips covering the inside of the dragon mouth so it is breathing “fire”. 
8. Now you have a fire breathing dragon that you can blow in and make the fire move! Have fun!
 
 
 
Crafts with my girls is one of our favorite activities.
We have been so lucky to have wonderful library events and military family groups (Blue Star Families and The USO are my two favorites) that host craft events in our area. 
 

You can never have too many paper rolls for crafts!
