<p style="text-align: center;">For this simple dessert recipe I use three different Melissa&#8217;a Produce products.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">The premade crepes are my favorite!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39439" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0518.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="451" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0518.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0518-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0518-768x1154.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0518-1022x1536.jpg 1022w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0518-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">The secret for the perfect homemade whipped cream- use a chilled mixer bowl and whisk/mixer.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I place mine in the freezer for at least an hour.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">First, make the coffee whipped cream. Pour 2 cups heavy cream in the bowl.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39441" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0521.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0521.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0521-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0521-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0521-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0521-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0521-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Then add powdered sugar and instant coffee. <img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39443" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0525.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0525.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0525-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0525-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0525-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0525-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0525-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Mix with a mixer over medium speed until fluffy and thick, about 2-3 minutes.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39444" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0527.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="451" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0527.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0527-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0527-768x1154.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0527-1022x1536.jpg 1022w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0527-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">The perfect fluffy whipped cream!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39445" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0528.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0528.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0528-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0528-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0528-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0528-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0528-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Chill until ready to serve.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39437" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0486.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="451" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0486.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0486-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0486-768x1154.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0486-1022x1536.jpg 1022w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0486-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">These extra thin crepes are made by Melissa&#8217;s Produce.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I like to use them often for sweet desserts and for savory lunch crepes.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39446" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0529.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0529.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0529-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0529-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0529-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0529-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0529-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Start by laying out a crepe on a cutting board.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39447" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0530.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0530.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0530-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0530-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0530-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0530-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0530-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Spread and smooth a couple dollops of coffee whipped cream on the inside of a crepe.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39448" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0531.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0531.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0531-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0531-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0531-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0531-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0531-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Next add a couple spoonfuls of raspberries in the middle of the crepe.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39449" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0532.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0532.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0532-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0532-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0532-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0532-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0532-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Now fold up the crepes. There are two way I like to serve my crepes- rolled or folded into a triangle.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39450" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0533.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0533.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0533-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0533-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0533-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0533-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0533-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I decided to roll these filled crepes and serve two per plate.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39451" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0535.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0535.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0535-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0535-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0535-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0535-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0535-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Roll the crepe and top with a drizzle of raspberry sauce.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39452" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0536.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0536.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0536-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0536-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0536-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0536-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0536-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I like to drizzle a lot all over the crepes and the plate. It also makes a pretty presentation.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39454" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0538.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0538.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0538-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0538-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0538-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0538-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0538-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Add a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle of crushed coffee flavored Coco Snax .&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I think using crushed chocolate covered espresso beans would be delicious too.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39456" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0543.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="451" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0543.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0543-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0543-768x1154.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0543-1022x1536.jpg 1022w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0543-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Sprinkle with extra berries.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-39458" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0555.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="451" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0555.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0555-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0555-768x1154.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0555-1022x1536.jpg 1022w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_0555-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Heat the raspberry jam for 5 to 10 seconds in the microwave on high until it&#8217;s easily spreadable.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Spoon it on top of the Brie, right in the middle. Using a rubber spatula, spread it out to the edges.</p>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8694-1024x682.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8694-1024x682.jpg" width="395" height="263" border="0"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;<span style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</span><span style="text-align: center;">then pick it up by its sides and set it in the chopped cashews.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: center;">Make sure the nuts adhere to the egg mix and cover the bottom.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8697-1024x682.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8697-1024x682.jpg" width="406" height="270" border="0"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">Lift the Brie and place it back in the egg mix on the sides of the Brie wheel this time.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">Tip the cheese on its side and roll in the egg mixture until coated.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8698-1024x682.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8698-1024x682.jpg" width="401" height="267" border="0"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;Carry the Brie to the dish with the finely chopped nuts and roll it around in there so that the nuts adhere to the sides. Use you hands to press the nuts on the sides if you need too.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: center;">Position the Brie in the center of the pie plate with the cashews, the bottom side down and the top side up (without any nuts).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8691-1024x682.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8691-1024x682.jpg" width="400" height="266" border="0"></a></div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: center;">Heat the raspberry jam for 5 to 10 seconds in the microwave on high until it&#8217;s easily spreadable.</span></p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8703-1024x682.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8703-1024x682.jpg" width="392" height="261" border="0"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;<span style="text-align: center;">Spoon it on top of the Brie, right in the middle.&nbsp;</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">Using a rubber spatula, spread it out to the edges.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8701-682x1024.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8701-682x1024.jpg" width="287" height="431" border="0"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">How amazing does that look?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8706-1024x682.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_8706-1024x682.jpg" width="394" height="262" border="0"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;Sprinkle some cashews on top of the jam but be sure to not cover all the jam.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">Leave the rest of the cashews on the pie plate around the Brie.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: center;">Bake the Brie at 350 degrees in the center rack for 15-10 minutes</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: center;">or until the cheese is beginning to melt inside.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Being the proud Southern lady I am, my favorite drink no matter the season is <b>Sweet Iced Tea</b>. None of that unsweetened stuff {I shudder to think..} but fresh brewed, sugar sweetened, cold tea all the way! I usually brew my tea on the stove but I thought today, with the weather being so lovely and our new patio finished, I would try <b>Sun Tea</b>. Y&#8217;all it is so easy peasy and made the most ah-mazing <b>Iced Tea</b> ever! Even better, I used a couple bags of herbal berry tea to add a subtle fruit flavor and then garnished my glasses with fresh raspberries! I could {and will} drink this all summer long!&nbsp;</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Fast forward to two hours later&#8230;.our tea&#8217;s ready to bring inside!&nbsp;</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">The berries add a natural sweetness but I wanted a {little} more so I mixed in 1/2 cup sugar.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B2sPkJu8OsU/U5DwenbrJgI/AAAAAAAASmw/u0cdMv4seug/s1600/IMG_4752.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/IMG_4752-768x1024.jpg" width="240" height="320" border="0"></a><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sg8YGJbaZSA/U5DwgNXJIuI/AAAAAAAASm4/cdakXlcOucU/s1600/IMG_4753.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/IMG_4753-768x1024.jpg" width="240" height="320" border="0"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">I added a few ice cubes to my mason jar glasses and filled with fresh tea.&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">Top it off with some fresh berries and a straw and you are set!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">In June we had our 21 week ultrasound and this was the big appt where we found out the baby&#8217;s sex!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We decided to have a gender reveal party with our friends that night so I made a card for the ultrasound tech to fill out the baby&#8217;s gender in secret and seal in an envelope for us to open at the party.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bWKDT0AFAq0/UIRosNtQVVI/AAAAAAAADgM/0eo4LKLhAyA/s1600/IMAG0015.jpg"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMAG0015-1024x577.jpg" width="640" height="360" border="0"></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Beautiful Baby Hood!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp; Before our friends arrived I baked two pies: one Blueberry Maple and another Raspberry Crumb.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We then planned to have a group of Ashton&#8217;s friends and fellow EOD soldiers over for dinner, pie, and the gender reveal! Both of the pie recipes are from this amazing cookbook:<i> <b>Pie</b></i><b> by Ken Haedrich</b>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" style="border: 0pt none;" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/spoon-8.png" align="middle"></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>&nbsp;Blueberry-Maple Pie&nbsp; </b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-486ZSi3_dvY/UIRjjBzvZ1I/AAAAAAAADew/3x2uhq4SAV0/s1600/IMG_7314.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_7314-768x1024.jpg" width="240" height="320" border="0"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>Ingredients:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3 cups blueberries&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/4 cup pure maple syrup, preferably light or medium amber</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">2 tbs sugar</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 1/2 tbs cornstarch</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 tbs lemon juice</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/8 tsp cinnamon</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 double crust flaky pie pastry</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(recipe below or use 2 rolls of premade pie pastry dough)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vg2kvJfnwCk/UIRjWJfCgeI/AAAAAAAADeY/j6qz3dMI4Rg/s1600/IMG_7310.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_7310-1024x768.jpg" width="320" height="240" border="0"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>Basic Flaky Pie Pastry</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(makes enough for double crust 9 inch pie)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3 cups flour</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 tbs sugar</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 tsp salt</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut in 1/4 inch pieces</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/2 cup cold vegetable shortening, cut into pieces</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/2 cup cold water</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Directions:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1. Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Add the butter, tossing it with the flour. with a mixer on low speed, blend the butter into the flour until you have what looks like coarse, damp meal, with both large and small clumps. Add the shortening and repeat. Turning the mixer on and off, add ha;f of the water. Mix briefly on low speed. Add the remaining water, mixing slowly until the dough starts to form large clumps. Stop periodically to stir the mixture up from the bottom of the bowl.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">2. Using your hands, pack the pastry into two balls as you would pack a snowball. Make one ball slightly larger than the other, this will be your bottom crust. Knead each ball once or twice, then flatten the balls into 3/4 inch thick disks on a floured work surface. Wrap the disks in plastic and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight before rolling.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3. On a sheet of lightly floured waxed paper, roll the larger portion of the pastry into a 12 inch wide circle with a floured rolling pin. Invert the pastry over a 9 inch standard pie pan, center, and peel off the paper. Gently tuck the pastry into the pan, without stretching it, and let the overhang drape over the edge. Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZANgOiJViHM/UIRjegxuLhI/AAAAAAAADeo/8A-pr4QbiWE/s1600/IMG_7313.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_7313-1024x768.jpg" width="320" height="240" border="0"></a><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vKkrelqoiOk/UIRjn-P-HzI/AAAAAAAADe8/_KO8Z91B9RQ/s1600/IMG_7315.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_7315-1024x768.jpg" width="320" height="240" border="0"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Directions:</div>
<ul style="text-align: center;">
<li>Preheat oven to 400 degrees.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Combine the blueberries and maple syrup in a medium sized bowl.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a small bowl, then stir the mixture into the blueberries along with the lemon juice and cinnamon.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Turn the filling into the chilled pie shell, smoothing the fruit with a spoon.</li>
<li>Roll the other half of the pie pastry into a 10 inch circle on a sheet of lightly floured waxed paper.</li>
<li>Moisten the outer edge of the pie shell with a pastry brush.</li>
<li>Invert the pastry over the filling, center, and peel off the paper.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Press the top and bottom pastries together along the dampened edge.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Using a knife, trim the pastry flush with the edge of the pan.</li>
<li>&nbsp;Pinch and push the pastry slightly down inside the pan so that it sits just below the edge.</li>
<li>Doing so will protect the pastry, as it has a tendency to over brown.</li>
<li>Poke several steam vents in the top of the pie.</li>
<li>Place the pie on the center over rack and bake for 25 minutes.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees and rotate the pie 180 degrees, so that the part that faced the back of the oven now faces forward.</li>
<li>Just in case, slide a large aluminum foil lined baking sheet onto the rack below to catch any spills.</li>
<li>Continue to bake until the juices bubble thickly along the edge, 25 to 30 minutes.&nbsp;</li>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><i>Serve with vanilla ice cream! </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0R9N7TsM-ug/UIRjyguRDMI/AAAAAAAADfU/CfxLDBumxP4/s1600/IMG_7318.JPG"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_7318-1024x768.jpg" width="320" height="240" border="0"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>&nbsp;Directions:</b></div>
<ul style="text-align: center;">
<li>Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>On a sheet of lightly floured waxed paper, roll the pastry into a 12 inch circle with a floured rolling pin.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Invert the pastry over a 9 inch pie pan, center, and peel off the paper.</li>
<li>&nbsp;Tuck the pastry into the pan, without stretching it, and sculpt the edges into and upstanding ridge.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.</li>
<li>Combine the raspberries, 1/2 cup of sugar, and the lemon juice in a large bowl.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Toss gently to mix, then set aside for 10 minutes to juice.</li>
<li>Meanwhile combine the remaining 3 tbs sugar and cornstarch and nutmeg in a small bowl. Stir the mixture into the fruit.</li>
<li>Spread the raspberry jam inside the chilled pie shell.</li>
<li>Scrape the filling into the shell, smoothing the fruit with a spoon.</li>
<li>Place the pie on the center oven rack and bake for 25 minutes.</li>
<li>Meanwhile make the topping: Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a food processor. Scatter the butter over the dry mixture and pulse until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Dump the crumbs into a large bowl and gently rub between your fingers to make large, buttery crumbs.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Remove the pie from the oven and reduce the oven temp to 375 degrees.</li>
<li>Add the quick cooking oats, sprinkling evenly over the pie. This will help soak up some of the juice&nbsp; and form a barrier for the crumb topping. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven.</li>
<li>Carefully dump the crumbs in the center of the pie and spread them evenly over the top with your hands. Return the pie to the oven, placing it so that the part that faced the back of the oven is now facing forward. Just in case, slide a large aluminum foil lined baking sheet onto the rack below to catch any spills. Continue to bake until the juices bubble thickly around the edge of the pie, about 25 minutes.</li>
<li>Transfer pie to a wire rack and let cool.</li>
</ul>
