<p style="text-align: center;">Wash them and pat dry.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-37866 alignnone" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9774.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="451" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9774.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9774-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9774-768x1154.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9774-1022x1536.jpg 1022w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9774-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-37868 alignnone" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9778.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="451" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9778.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9778-200x300.jpg 200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9778-768x1154.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9778-1022x1536.jpg 1022w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9778-150x225.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">You can use either white chocolate or vanilla almond bark for dipping the berries.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I think the almond bark is smoother and work better for dipping so that is what I used.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Add the almond bark to a microwaveable bowl and heat for 60 seconds. Stir then heat again in 15 second intervals until smooth.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-37869" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9779.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9779.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9779-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9779-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9779-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9779-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9779-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">You can use your fingers and hold the stems or insert a toothpick in the top center to hold the berries.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-37870" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9780.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="266" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9780.jpg 1200w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9780-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9780-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9780-680x450.jpg 680w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9780-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IMG_9780-150x100.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Dip a berry in the melted almond bark and coat completely up to the stem.</p>

<p>As a true girlie girl my favorite color is {of course} <b>PINK</b>. So for my birthday this year I decided to invite a few of my girlfriends and their kiddos to a <b>Pretty in Pink themed lunch</b> at a local restaurant. Everyone wore pink and we celebrated with pink cupcakes and pink sparkling wine! Then I wanted to continue my <b>Pink Party </b>so Ava and I had a <b>Pretty in Pink Picnic </b>this week! We made <b>Hot Pink Chocolate Strawberries</b> and <b>Painted Pink Heart Sandwiches </b>and sipped on <b>Pink Lemonade</b>.<br />
My sweet girl loved it! I see us having picnics often in our future <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><br />
Check out our pictures and instructions for our pink goodies below!&nbsp;</p>

<ul style="text-align: center;">
<li>&nbsp;Using a large cookie cutter cut out shapes from sliced bread.</li>
<li>Fill a small bowl with milk.</li>
<li>Add a small amount of food coloring in desired color to milk and stir to combine.</li>
<li>Using a new paint brush or a basting brush, brush colored milk on one side of each bread slice.</li>
<li>Lightly toast painted bread then spread with butter or jam or put two slices together to make colorful sandwiches. We made pink peanut butter and jelly heart sandwiches!</li>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">My Picnic Tips:</h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">1. Skip paper plates and cups and bring reusable plates or fun sectioned plates/trays. I like to bring mason jars or plastic cups with lids and colorful straws. Much more durable (which means less mess) and earth friendly.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">2. I love having pretty flowers on display at my picnic. Pick some and place in a colorful mason jar or bottle (I used a mini pink champagne bottle).&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">3. Lots of napkins! I bring paper towels, a hand towel, and wipes. Messes will happen but are an easy clean up if you have the right supplies.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">4. Come prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses,&nbsp; hats, and bug spray and try to set up in a shaded area to beat the heat.&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">5. Stick with finger foods. I love serving salads and sides but to cut down on added clutter and mess (and save on bringing plastic ware) I serve only finger foods. Sandwiches, fried chicken, nuts, pickles, chips, cold dips (like hummus!), crunchy veggies, fruits, sliced meats, crackers, and cheeses, and cupcakes and cookies all are picnic perfect!&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">6. Bring sandwich bags or Tupperware to store leftovers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">7. Have fun and enjoy yourself!<br />

<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For Mother&#8217;s Day this year we decided to go <b>strawberry pickin&#8217;</b>. We were on vacation in Florida so we drove out to Baker, FL with my parents for a fun day of fruit pickin&#8217; then a delicious Mother&#8217;s Day lunch. <a href="http://www.akersofstrawberries.com/"><b>Akers of Strawberries</b></a> has been around for years and I have many great memories of<b> pickin&#8217; sweet strawberries</b> and eating their homemade fro-yo with my parents back in the day! I was so excited to take my little Ava there {and Ashton too!}. She enjoyed it more than all of us; immediately grabbing a bucket and&nbsp; searching for ripe, juicy berries {and eating a few along the way}. It was such a special day and I will forever treasure the memories of <b>strawberry pickin&#8217;</b> with my daughter!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Check out our other pics and recipes from our berry pickin&#8217; trips <a href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/2013/06/summer-double-berry-cobbler-berry.html">here</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We came home with 3 buckets full of bright red strawberries, ready for eating. We immediately cleaned them, removed the stems, and froze them in freezer bags for later. Ashton makes <a href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/2013/06/fathers-day-special-pb-smoothie.html">smoothies </a>for breakfast a few times a week and frozen berries are perfect {and mean you don&#8217;t need ice!}. I saved some to make a Strawberry Pie but since the weather is so nice and we are spending more and more time outside I wanted to make a refreshing- family friendly- drink for us.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ashton loves Sonic&#8217;s Cherry Limeade {I made it for his <a href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/2013/08/its-bombcom-party-and-explosive.html">Bomb Birthday</a>} so I decided to try out a <b>Strawberry Limeade</b> {recipe below}. It tasted great and was just what we were craving to refresh us from spending the afternoon in the sun! Bonus: the strawberry puree can be used as the base for many drinks including <b>Strawberry Lemonade</b>! Yum!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">This easy strawberry puree is perfect for mixing into cocktails and family friendly drinks&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">like <b>Strawberry Lemonade</b>.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">Add ice to a pitcher and then mix in 2 parts seltzer to one part lemon lime soda.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;Taste and add additional lime juice and/or strawberry puree.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">I add sliced lime to the pitcher and add a lime wedge of the side of each glass too.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">I add thin slices of lime into the pitcher too.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">I found these cool mason jars at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (set of 4 for $9.99 plus 20% off!). I decided to go above and beyond with these drinks and rim the tops of the glasses in sugar. Simply wet the rims with lime juice or water and dip and roll into a bowl or plate of sugar. Large sugar crystals work best such as Turbinado Sugar or Sugar in the Raw.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/IMG_9680-682x1024.jpg"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/IMG_9680-682x1024.jpg" width="213" height="320" border="0"></a><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/IMG_9683-682x1024.jpg"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/IMG_9683-682x1024.jpg" width="213" height="320" border="0"></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">These <b>Strawberry Limeades</b> were {dare I say} better than Sonic! I love the fresh strawberry puree, tart lime, and the sugared rim.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">The perfect drink for a hot day!</div>
