<p style="text-align: center;">Our wild and crazy pup Elvis turned one this month! Naturally, we had to celebrate with a doggie party filled with music, toys, treats, and a special dog friendly birthday cake made with his favorites, bananas and peanut butter (just like the real Elvis too!). This cake is easy to throw together and looks too cute topped with mini bone treats on top! You can frost with regular creamy peanut butter (I like Jif, just make sure no Xylitol in the ingredients) or make a creamier topping with plain yogurt and pb. <img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-32665" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-1024x683.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="333" srcset="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-340x225.jpg 340w, https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/IMG_9228-scaled.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Elvis loved it and it was plenty big enough to slice up share with his brother Cooper!&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">I use peanut butter in both the cake and frosting. I like creamy JIF brand.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Any brand will work as long as it has no Xylitol sweetener which is poisonous to dogs.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It&#8217;s that time of year again: <b>Charlie the beagle dog&#8217;s birthday</b>! My feisty pup turned 9 this year and as is our tradition I make him his favorite food to celebrate:<b> Lobster</b>! Yes, you read that right I feed my dog lobster. He loves it more than anything and dances around like a puppy when he sees and smells it. Sometimes he just gets a plate of steamed <b>Maine Lobster</b>, other years I make him a special dish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here are two of <b>Charlie&#8217;s birthday Lobster meals</b> from years past:</div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/2013/01/birthday-lobster-and-potato-hash-with.html">Lucky Dog Lobster and Potato Hash with Hollandaise</a></b></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/2011/01/happy-birthday-charlie-beagle.html">Lobster Roll&nbsp;</a> </b></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/IMG_0582-1024x980.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/IMG_0582-1024x980.jpg" width="401" height="383" border="0"></a></p>
<div style="text-align: center;">This year I decided to make my favorite<b> Lobster Thermidor</b>. Charlie isn&#8217;t a fan of mushrooms so he had a heaping plate of fresh lobster for his dinner. We also treated the pups to birthday dog cookies from my favorite dog bakery back home <b>3 Dogs and a Chick</b>. You can order from their Etsy page <a href="http://www.3dogsandachick.etsy.com/">here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>&nbsp;</b><a style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" href="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/IMG_0578-682x1024.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="" src="https://www.4theloveoffoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/IMG_0578-682x1024.jpg" width="301" height="452" border="0"></a></div>

I started off using a boxed mix by Bark Bars then a couple years ago I started making the cookies from scratch. My dogs love to be the taste testers and Peanut Butter was the #1 flavor in my house! As with any homemade cookie, it is a little time consuming. But this recipe makes about 50&nbsp;treats and it&#8217;s worth the time just to see the happiness on your pups face when he&nbsp;gobbles a&nbsp;homemade crunchy&nbsp;peanut butter cookie!</span></div>

Over the years I&#8217;ve collected cookie cutters of all shapes and sizes.<br />
I have about 10 dog themed&nbsp;cookie cutters that include a dog house,<br />
&nbsp;a dog bone, a small heart, a fire hydrant, and different dog breeds<br />
(including a beagle, of course!)<br />
My favorite place to buy cooking cutters: Sur La Table cooking store!<br />
