These vibrant Easter eggs are naturally dyed blue and inspired by my kiddos favorite Disney cartoon, Bluey. 

Who is Bluey? Set in Australia, Bluey is a Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her mum, dad, and little sister, Bingo.  You can watch this adorable show on Disney+.

What you need:

6-8 large or XL eggs

1/2 head of purple cabbage, roughly chopped

2 tbsp salt

1 tbsp vinegar

card stock, cut into small strips

Bluey themed decal stickers

tape

Directions:

1. Bring a large pot of water to boil on the stove over medium high heat.

2. Gently add eggs and purple cabbage.

3. Next, add salt and vinegar.

4. Let boil for 10 minutes then remove from heat.

5. Let cool in the pot then place in the fridge for at least 6-8 hours. I like to leave it overnight.

6. Carefully remove eggs from the pot and place on a paper towel lined plate to dry off. Discard water and cabbage. 

7. Tape together small strips of cardstock into circles. They should be smaller than the width of the eggs.

8. Add tape to the back, bottom of the Bluey stickers and attach one to each of the cardstock egg holders.

9. Lastly, slip the dried eggs into the Bluey themed egg holders. 

10. Display your Bluey eggs for Easter or peel and use for egg salad or deviled eggs.

I first saw this Easter egg hack on Instagram and immediately thought of making them Bluey themed. 

All you need to naturally dye the eggs a pretty blue is purple cabbage, vinegar, salt, and boiling water.

I leave the backing on the stickers so they are sturdier and stay flat.

Looking for an easy last minute Father’s Day craft?

I am sharing these Custom D-A-D Letters as a cute gift idea and three different ways to make them!

1. Painted Decorated Wooden Letters

This is the easiest and cutest craft in my opinion, especially for elementary school age kids.

Use either wooden or cardboard/paper mache 3D large letters from the craft store. 

My crafty girls love to paint so this craft was right up their alley. 

We made these painted letters last year at the USO.

Each girls painted one “D” and they collaborated on the “A”.

Father’s Day crafts in under 30 minutes ( and not too much mess)! 

This is such an easy and colorful craft to display. Ashton still has his on his dresser.

2. Photo Letters 

I made these letters as a gift for my husband in honor of his last career in the Army EOD. 

You could also make these to spell out a name or “DAD”. I simply printed photos off my phone and cut them to fit. Then I used glossy Mod Podge to seal it on. 

Hang with strips or display on a shelf as a one of a kind gift.

3. Colored D-A-D Picture

Ok, this is almost too cute for words, right? I traced these letters out on white posterboard and let the girls color (or scribble because they were toddlers). Then I cute them out and took photos of them each holding a letter. The dog even posed with a letter. Then I printed them out and arrange on a collage to spell out DAD. 

Miss Ava thought it was so fun! And how cute is she?!

Stella is usually the comedian but how funny is this child?!

Here’s a adorable Valentine’s Day throwback for y’all!

Way back in 2014 I made these Valentine’s Day Fruit Roll-Ups Fortune Cookies with Ava.

These treats were so cute and easy to make and little Ava loved helping cut out (and eat) them.

I used solid color (non printed) Fruit Roll-ups {or similar brand}.

Ava and her Daddy sampled a Fruit Roll-up before we began, 
you know to make sure it tasted good!

Fruit Roll-Ups Fortune Cookies

Makes 20 fortune cookies

Ingredients

• 1 10 pack package Fruit Roll-Ups wrappers removed
• 20 paper strips with printed messages
• mason jar lid

Instructions

• Print out sweet sayings on small slips of paper.
• Use a mason jar lid to cut out two circles per Roll-Up.
• Place the paper in the center of the circles and fold Roll-Up in half .
• With your thumb in the center pinch to form a fortune cookie shape.
• Wrap up or place in treat bags and give as a sweet treat for Valentine's Day.

I  chose red Fruit Roll-Ups for a Valentine’s color.  

Use a mason jar lid to cut out two circles per Roll-Up.

Print out sweet sayings on small slips of paper.

Place the paper in the center of the circles and fold Roll-Up in half .

With your thumb in the center, pinch to form a fortune cookie shape.

Wrap up or place in treat bags and give as a sweet treat for Valentine’s Day.

Just in time for Christmas Eve, today I am sharing a fun Grinch themed family activity with a printable poem card. This Grinch Dust is easy to make with colored sugar. Simply scoop into baggies and add the printable bag topper or tag with the Grinch poem. Give them as gifts or make it together with your kids as your new Christmas Eve tradition.  Then have fun sprinkling the magic dust in your yard before Christmas to keep the Grinch away!

Grinch Dust

Makes 5-6 small baggies

Ingredients

• 1 cup white sugar
• 6 + drops green food coloring

Instructions

• Add sugar to a bowl.
• Stir in green food coloring until you get your desired color.
• Scoop a few spoonfuls into each baggies.
• Print, cut out, and staple bag toppers on ziptop baggies. Or punch a hole in the tags and tie on with a ribbon.

Add 1 cup sugar to a bowl then stir in green food coloring.

Add drops until you get your desired color. 

Scoop a few spoonfuls into each baggie. 

Print and cut out the tags or toppers and staple or tie onto baggies.

I stapled the bag toppers on regular size snack ziptop baggies and punched a hole

and added a ribbon tie with a tag for smaller treat size baggies.

Our Elf Jingle even had a visit from the Grinch!

Luckily he left a movie and book for us to enjoy and didn’t cause any trouble!
