Bread Dipping Sauces Two Ways Using European Olive Oil

Today I am sharing two delicious restaurant style bread dipping sauces you can make at home using extra virgin olive oil. Olive Oil and Herb Dip and Oil and Balsamic Vinegar Dip are easy to make with only a few ingredients and taste just like the dipping sauces from that fancy Italian restaurant you love! Be sure to have lots of crusty bread ready to dip. This sauce is so good, it’s hard to stop eating …until the bread or the dip is all gone!
I was excited to receive a bottle of European Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Flavor Your Life to try this month. I use olive oil daily in my cooking but I love the flavor so much I decided to create not one but two flavorful dips to share with y’all today.
Find out more about the European olive oil I used here: http://www.oliofarchioni.com/en .

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil {I used Farchioni Olive Oil}, divided
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 garlic clovers, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Crusty sliced French or Italian bread, for serving

Directions:

For the Olive Oil & Herb Dip:

  1. Add the Italian seasoning and garlic to a small dipping bowl or plate.
  2. Mix together then drizzle 1/4 cup olive oil on top.
  3. Serve with sliced bread for dipping.

For the Oil & Vinegar Dip:

  1. Add 1/4 cup olive oil to a small dipping bowl or plate.
  2. Pour 1 tsp balsamic in the center of the bowl.
  3. Serve with sliced bread for dipping.

Fresh baked French or Italian bread is essential for this recipe.
Hot out of the oven and sliced for serving.
Good quality olive oil makes all the difference, especially in a oil dipping sauce.
Read more about European Olive Oil below.
For the Olive Oil & Herb Dip:
I choose to use Italian seasoning, which includes a combo of  basil, oregano, rosemary, and thyme, for this recipe.
You could also create your own seasoning mix by adding a selection of these dried herbs, along with crushed red pepper {for heat}, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper. Even Parmesan cheese would be delicious.
Add the Italian seasoning and garlic to a small dipping bowl or plate.

Mix together then drizzle 1/4 cup olive oil on top.
Serve with sliced bread for dipping.
For the Oil & Vinegar Dip:
Add 1/4 cup olive oil to a small dipping bowl or plate.
Pour 1 tsp balsamic in the center of the bowl.
Serve with sliced bread for dipping.
Serve both sauces or just one as an appetizer before dinner. I served both oil dips before my famous Chicken Parmesan and I hate to admit it, but everyone didn’t want to stop eating their bread and dip when my Chicken Parm was placed in front of them. It’s so good you want to eat every last bite!

More about European Olive Oil

For thousands of years, European farmers have cared for and evolved hundreds of varieties of olive trees to ensure that only the very best oil reaches your table. They also aim to educate consumers about the benefits of European Extra Virgin Olive Oil so they can make informed decisions when purchasing. Their goal is to share the history, cooking techniques, and health benefits of this European classic with you, as well as demonstrate the importance of choosing European when it comes to this kitchen staple.
