Hocus Pocus Painted Wooden House Tiered Tray Decor

Hocus Pocus is by far my favorite Halloween movie and this year I even threw a Hocus Pocus movie party! So it’s safe to say I decorate my home with lots of colorful and fun Hocus Pocus themed items. When I saw a three pack of wooden craft houses in the Target Dollar Spot I knew I had to make a Halloween Hocus Pocus craft with them! These painted houses can be made easily as a quick afternoon craft. Just paint, add decals, and even decorate with ribbon or leather ties in a bow. They look perfect on tiered trays, themed buffet tables, and even just simple Halloween shelf decor!

What you need:

  • wooden houses
  • red, purple, green acrylic paint
  • paint brushes
  • Hocus Pocus decals/stickers
  • twine, ribbon, or leather cord, optional
  • Mod Podge gloss paint, optional

Directions:

  1. Paint front, back, and sides of each house. I painted one for each color of the Sanderson sister’s dresses: red, purple, and green.
  2. Let dry then add another coat if needed. Let dry completely.
  3. Add decals on the front of each house, smoothing and pressing on completely.
  4. If the decals do not adhere completely you can also add a thin layer of Mod Podge over the front of the houses. Let dry.
  5. Add a matching decorative twine or cord tied bow at the top.
  6. Display on your themed tiered tray or party display. Happy Halloween, Sistassss!

I found this cute 3 pack of wooden houses with metal chimneys in the Dollar Spot at Target.

I used metallic colored acrylic paint in the colors of the Sanderson sister’s dresses: red, green, and purple along with match leather cord.

I purchased a 10 pack of Hocus Pocus stickers off Facebook. Before painting I laid out the stickers to figure out the look I wanted and what made sense.

Paint front, back, and sides of each house, one in each color.
Let dry then add another coat if needed. Let dry completely.

Add decals on the front of each house, smoothing and pressing on completely.
If the decals do not adhere completely you can also add a thin layer of Mod Podge over the front of the houses. Let dry.

Add a matching decorative twine or cord tied bow at the top.

Display on your themed tiered tray or party display.

Happy Halloween, Sistassss!
