Mardi Gras Mini King Cake Biscuits

It’s Mardi Gras season here in Louisiana and that means King Cakes are available everywhere!
I wanted to make a fast and easy version that is small and kid friendly so I created these fun Mini King Cake Biscuits using Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls and Trix cereal, both a part of the eBoxTops program with Winn Dixie stores. Keep reading to learn more about this great program where you can earn money for your school while simply doing your weekly grocery shopping.

Mardi Gras Mini King Cake Biscuits

Makes 8 King Cake Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Roll Biscuits {8 ct} with icing
  • 1/3 cup Mini Trix cereal {purple yellow, and green only}

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Open the biscuits and separate each biscuit. Set the icing aside.
  • Flatten the biscuits with the palm of your hands and then spread a hole out in the center so they are shaped like rings.
  • Place in rows on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes or until cooked through and lightly browned.
  • While the biscuits bake separate your Mini Trix cereal. You need a couple tablespoons each of purple, green, and yellow Mini Trix cereal pieces.
  • Remove biscuits from oven and let cool slightly.
  • Frost with reserved icing on tops.
  • Sprinkle Mini Trix, in all 3 colors, on top of each King Cake Biscuit.
  • Serve warm and enjoy this festive breakfast treat!

Look for specially marked General Mills grocery items with the Box Tops label. 
Open the biscuits and separate each biscuit. 
Place in rows on a lined baking sheet.
Flatten the biscuits with the palm of your hands.
Spread a hole out in the center so they are shaped like rings.
Set the included icing aside until after baking.
Bake for 11-13 minutes or until cooked through and lightly browned.
They look just like mini king cakes!
While the biscuits bake separate your Mini Trix cereal.
Ava liked to help with this part, of course!
 You need a couple tablespoons each of purple, green, and yellow Mini Trix cereal pieces. 
Let biscuits cool slightly then frost with reserved icing on tops.
Sprinkle Mini Trix, in all 3 colors, on top of each King Cake Biscuit.
Serve warm and enjoy this festive breakfast treat!
