They say time flies when your having fun and I would have to agree!
Being a parent sure is hard work but I have so much fun with my two girls and time is flying by way too fast! I cannot believe my sweet Stella Rose is turning 6 months old this month! She is such a happy, fun baby; always smiling and laughing. And boy can that baby eat! We exclusively breastfed but now that she is older and hungry all the time, I decided to start her on solid foods. I mean seriously y’all she grabs my plates, licks her lips, and open hers eyes wide in excitement when she is around food! She also has a rather maniacal laugh when she sees me eating so it’s safe to say this baby is ready to start solids!
I love making snacks and foods for my kids but I also am all about convenience- especially when I can find healthy foods that aren’t bland or boring. I hit the jackpot with the new Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits®! These purees contain Lil’ Bits of apples, carrots, sweet potatoes, and blueberries and are perfect for transitioning your child to chew-able foods. We tried both flavors, Apple Blueberry and Sweet Potato Apple Carrot & Cinnamon -Stella was partial to the sweet potato!
I decided to use the Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits® in Sweet Potato Apple Carrot & Cinnamon to make Frozen Fruit Bites for Stella {and big girl Ava too}.
I figured freezing dots of the food would help soothe her teething gums and help with her fine motor and self feeding skills. Since the puree already had cinnamon mixed in I didn’t have to add any seasonings and Stella got to try different textures, flavors, and combinations in each Frozen Fruit Bite.
I can’t wait to come up with more recipes featuring the Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits® as Stella starts trying more and more foods. She of course likes to eat it right out of the container too- with Mama making airplane noises with the spoon and trying not to make too much of a mess- and the Lil’ Bits help her to learn how to chew and mash food! At this rate, my girl will be a foodie like Big Sister {and Mama} any day now!

Ingredients:

  • 5oz container Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits® in Sweet Potato Apple Carrot & Cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a baking tray.
  2. Spoon small dots of Lil’ Bits in rows on the parchment, filling up the tray.
  3. Place tray in the freezer until the dots are frozen, about 1-2 hours.
  4. Remove from freezer and pop dots off the paper with a spoon and place in a freezer friendly resealable container.
  5. Repeat with remaining Lil’ Bits {I made 2 batches}.
  6. Serve a few at a time {they melt after a few minutes} on a highchair tray and let your little one pick up and eat the frozen bites.

Simply spoon small dots of Lil’ Bits in rows on the parchment, filling up the tray.

Place the tray in the freezer until the dots are frozen, about 1-2 hours.
Remove and pop dots off the paper with a spoon and place in a freezer friendly resealable container.

Even my toddler loves to snack on these Frozen Fruit Bites!

For choosing nutritious baby foods, we need expert suggestions. Basically, new parents are unable to choose best baby foods, which contains nutritious value and a good amount of protein. This kind of frozen fruits are also beneficial as baby foods, it contains a good amount of protein and nutrition. Thanks for providing such a wonderful food collection.
