It’s no secret, life with kids is messy!

They can destroy a well organized and cleaned room in mere minutes {maybe even seconds} and give them food and watch it get wiped on everything.

My messy eaters!
But listen up Moms and Dads. I have a dirty little secret! I use my Magic Eraser to clean up just about every mess my kiddos make. It’s not backbreaking hard work, it’s not expensive or difficult to use. But let me tell you -it is magic!

This little sponge cleans not only messy counters and sinks but also splatter stained doors, pen marked walls, and paint scuffed floorboards. I use it to wipe clean my dry erase boards, cleans the kid’s sneakers, and my Magic Eraser flawlessly cleans my daughter’s stained and food covered highchair in minutes.

Mr. Clean has teamed up with HGTV host and former Bachelorette Jillian Harris for a fun Magic Eraser video. View it here: http://bit.ly/1Zs2ynW .
Run- don’t walk- to the store today and pick up a few boxes of Mr. Clean’s Magic Erasers. I always have some no hand! Enter to win a Springtime Cleaning Gift Basket below.
I use every inch of my Magic Erasers.
I love how durable and long lasting they are!
We love getting messy and having fun in the kitchen!
Check out the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cake with Chocolate Glaze
recipe below that Ava and I made this week.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cake with Chocolate Glaze

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs room temp
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips

For the chocolate glaze:

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp hot water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease and flour the bottom and side of a cake pan. I used a small bundt pan and a round cake pan for this recipe.
  • In a large bowl mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl add butter and both white and brown sugar.
  • Mix on medium speed until creamed and smooth.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and mix to combine.
  • Pour in milk until combined.
  • Finally add peanut butter and mix well.
  • Turn off mixer and stir chocolate chips in gently by hand.
  • Pour batter into greased cake pan/s, smoothing out the top.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in pan for 10 minutes then invert onto a plate or cooling rack to completely cool before adding the glaze.
  • After adding glaze sprinkle with peanut butter chips and serve.

For the glaze:

  • In a small mixing bowl, add the chocolate chips, butter and corn syrup.
  • Microwave in 20 second intervals, until the chocolate and butter are melted.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Add hot water and stir until smooth.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes.
  • Pour or drizzle the glaze over the cake (it should still sit on a cooling rack or plate).
  • When the glaze stops dripping, place the cake onto a serving plate or cake stand.

When baking with kids I recommend setting out all
the utensils and measured ingredients before you start.
In a large bowl mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Start with two sticks of softened butter in a large mixing bowl.
Add 1 cup each of brown sugar and white sugar.
Cream together on medium speed until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla and mix to combine.
Pour in milk until combined.
Ava loves to help bake. Her favorite part is pouring in all the ingredients!
Finally add peanut butter.
Mix well.
My little helper got to lick the peanut butter spoon after we were done.
She likes this better than licking the beaters!
Finally, add 1 cup of mini chocolate chips.
Turn off mixer and stir chocolate chips in gently by hand.
Look at how delicious the dough looks! Just wait until it is baked!
Grease and flour the bottom and side of a cake pan.
I used this adorable small flower bundt pan and a round cake pan for this recipe.
Pour batter into greased cake pan/s, smoothing out the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick
inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Invert onto a plate or cooling rack to completely cool before adding the glaze.

Now time to make the glaze!
In a small mixing bowl, add the chocolate chips, butter and corn syrup.
Stir until smooth.
Add hot water and stir until smooth.
Let cool for 10 minutes.
Pour the glaze over the cake or drizzle with a spoon (it should still sit on a cooling rack or plate).
When the glaze stops dripping, place the cake onto a serving plate or cake stand.
Top with a sprinkling of peanut butter chips.
Slice and enjoy!
Nothing makes you feel better than cake!
It makes the best gift 🙂

I love Mr. Clean Magic Erasers for our shower! I guess we have hard water, maybe? Anyway, we get a weird build-up and the magic erasers make quick work of getting rid of them. Also pinning this recipe, because you had me at "peanut butter!" 🙂

I've used a magic eraser to clean walls, doors, and even carpet! Not sure if it attributed anything to cleaning the Sharpie stains on my carpet, but whatever I did worked!
