Crock-Pot Mulled Apple Cider

One of my very favorite holiday drinks has always been hot apple cider. I just love the delicious smell  of cinnamon and a steaming mug of hot mulled apple cider with the hint of spice and citrus is holiday perfection in a cup! This version is made in the Crock-Pot so you can cook it on low and forget about it. Meanwhile your cider will warm and make your house smell amazing!

How cute is this snackin' appetizer shaped as a Christmas Tree? I used our Harry and David gift box and made this for Christmas Day!

Ingredients:

Makes 16 servings
  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 oranges, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks plus more for garnih

    Directions:

    1. Combine all ingredients in a Crock-Pot.
    2. Cover and heat on low for 2 hours.
    3. Serve warm with extra cinnamon sticks for a garnish.
I love buying big jugs of apple cider during the fall and winter season.
It is delicious cold or hot, on it's own or with toppings.
Check out my Apple Cider Punch recipe.
For this recipe pour 1/2 gallon {2 liters} of apple cider in a large Crock-Pot.
Stir in 1/4 cup brown sugar.
Add 4 cinnamon sticks along with the spices.
I use 1/2 teaspoon allspice and 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves.
You could also use whole allspice and cloves {1 tsp each} in a cheesecloth.
And then add 2 sliced oranges.
Cover and heat on low for 2 hours.
Serve warm in glasses garnished with cinnamon sticks.
This recipe makes a lot so it is perfect for holiday parties and Christmas day with the family.
