Sunrise Smoothie for Lactation Support

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of 1 Natural Way, a TRICARE breast pump provider. All opinions are entirely my own.
As a Mom of two I know mornings are rough. Getting everyone up and ready and where they need to be on time has always been a struggle for me. Smoothies are my go to on these hectic days when I need something healthy, filling, and fast. This Sunrise Smoothie is made with my favorite juice, yogurt, and frozen fruit with added flax seed and Brewer's yeast for the wonderful health benefits including increasing your milk supply and helping with digestion for nursing Mamas like me.

I breastfed both my babies for 18 months {Ava} and 26 months {Stella} and I cherish that sweet time together and bond we have. I drank Mama milk tea and made lactation cookies and smoothies often to help increase my milk supply. Whether you are a nursing Mama or not, this delicious smoothie is packed full with good for you ingredients to help you start your day right!

Tricare is our insurance and they are phenomenal and provide so much for new Mamas including breastfeeding supplies! The new Medela Breast Pump I was given from 1 Natural Way was a blessing! My Medela Pump in Style Tote lasted for years and I also used the nursing pads and manual Medela pump often, especially on trips. What a lifesaver!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana, sliced and frozen
  • 1 5-6oz container raspberry Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup raspberries, frozen
  • 1 tbsp Brewer's Yeast
  • 1 tbsp flax seed

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Cover and blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a large glass.
  4. Add a straw and garnish with a few extra berries. Enjoy!
I love adding ground flax seeds and Brewer's yeast to my smoothies, oatmeal,  because of all the wonderful health benefits.  They contain lots of fiber, vitamins, and heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids and for nursing Mamas they both are known to boost milk supply and help with digestion!
Also try adding them to lactation cookies
I like using frozen fruit in all my smoothies so I do not have to add ice.
Less watered down and more flavor!
Simply add a chopped banana and rinsed raspberries to a baggie the night before and freeze.
Start by adding all 6 ingredients to a blender.
Cover and blend until smooth and creamy.
Ava doesn't like this part because it is super loud!
That's one good lookin' smoothie there {and a cutie pie kiddo too}!
Pour into a large glass.
Add a straw and garnish with a few extra berries.
This Sunrise Smoothie is healthy, filling, and fast.
Just what a busy Mama needs to start her day!
