This post is part of a kick butt burger grill giveaway hosted by GirlCarnivore but the burger epicness is all my own.

I am excited to participate in Burger Month with Girl Carnivore this year. Over 50 bloggers including myself are sharing their best burger creations throughout the month of May along with huge giveaways you don’t want to miss!
For my Burger Month creation this year I decided to make a Southern inspired Fried Pickle Burger with Buttermilk Ranch Dip. I cooked a thick 1/2 lb peppercorn crusted burger patty and added my favorite appetizer, fried pickles, on top. Then drizzled on creamy buttermilk ranch dressing because ranch is good on just about anything, right?!
Check out the recipe below and comment and let me know what you think.
A huge thanks to the #BurgerMonth sponsors and swag from Anolon,

Fried Pickle Burger with Buttermilk Ranch Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb ground chuck patties
  • 2 tbsp cracked black peppercorns
  • 2 thick tomato slices
  • 2 large butter lettuce leaves
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese {I used Cabot Cheese}
  • 1/2 cup fried pickles {see my recipe here}
  • 2 to asted and sliced burger buns
  • Buttermilk Ranch for spreading and dipping {recipe below}

For the Buttermilk Ranch:

  • 1 1 oz packet Buttermilk Ranch Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

Instructions

  • Prepare and make the fried pickles. View my recipe here.
  • Heat a non stick grill pan over medium heat.
  • Add both seasoned patties to the pan and cook to desired temperature, flipping once {about 10 minutes}.
  • Add sliced cheese to the top of each burger and cover the pan with a lid for one minute to steam and melt cheese.
  • Meanwhile spread ranch dressing on the inside top and bottom toasted bun.
  • Place bottom buns on serving plates and add lettuce and a tomato slice to each.
  • Remove burgers from skillet and place on the dressed buns.
  • Top with a handful of fried pickles and finally add the top bun.
  • Serve right away with extra napkins and more ranch dressing for dipping. Enjoy!

For the Buttermilk Ranch:

  • Add all four ingredients to a bowl.
  • Whisk until smooth.
  • Place in the fridge until ready to serve.

First I mix up my buttermilk ranch dip.
Place in the fridge until the burgers are ready to serve.

 For the burgers, I have purchased them two ways. Already formed and peppercorn crusted 1/2 lb patties or a 1lb package of ground chuck or sirloin that I form and season myself.

 I use a tbsp or so of cracked peppercorns on each burger. Press all over the sides.

Prepare and make the fried pickles. View my recipe here.

Heat a non stick grill pan over medium heat and add both seasoned patties.

Cook to desired temperature, flipping once {about 10 minutes}.

I love this creamy ranch dressing for sandwiches, burgers, salads, and dips!

Spread ranch dressing on the inside top and bottom toasted bun.

Place bottom buns on serving plates and add lettuce and a tomato slice to each.

Add sliced cheese to the top of each burger

Cover the pan with a lid for one minute to steam and melt cheese.

Remove burgers from skillet and place on the dressed buns.

Top with a handful of fried pickles and finally add the top bun.

Serve right away with extra napkins and more ranch dressing for dipping. Enjoy!

This is a big ol messy burger but boy is it good!

    Girl, now you have me hungry for a burger! Seriously. This looks so delicious and amazing. I never would have thought to add crushed pepper to the sides, but it sounds wonderful.
