I wanted to end this week with a tasty treat and if you know me you know I have a sweet tooth!
One of my favorite desserts is S’mores and since this was the 4th of July week I decided to make Patriotic S’mores but with a twist {wink, wink}! I added creamy peanut butter {because who doesn’t like chocolate and peanut butter?!} and instead of traditional graham crackers I use salty, crunchy Ritz crackers!
We had a rainy Independence Day this year so we stayed inside most of the day. But no worries we still made a grilled sausage lunch indoors and had inside S’mores cooked right in the oven!
My girls this 4th of July!

I love these sweet Watermelon pictures of my beautiful Ava from last week!

  • 4 Jumbo Red White, and Blue Marshmallows, cut in half {or 8 regular size marshmallows}

  • Prepare your crackers on a plate- lay out Ritz crackers, add a smear of peanut butter then a piece or two of chocolate on half the crackers.
  • Arrange marshmallows on a lined baking sheet.
  • Broil marshmallows in the center of the oven on the middle rack for 30 seconds-1 minute {keep an eye on them} until they are warm and toasty brown.
  • Remove and carefully flip marshmallows over with a spatula then broil the other sides for 30 seconds-1 minute. Remove from oven.
  • Using a spatula, remove the marshmallows and place on the empty Ritz crackers.
  • Place on top of the remaining Ritz crackers with the chocolate and peanut butter.
  • Smush together and enjoy your sticky treat while it is still warm and gooey!

I found these patriotic red, white, and blue star marshmallows at World Market and knew right away I wanted to make s’mores with them! But these marshmallows were huge compared to your typical Jet Puffed large marshmallow so I cut them in half {you can do this before or after you broil them}.
Prepare your crackers on a plate- lay out Ritz crackers, add a smear of
peanut butter then a piece or two of chocolate on half the crackers.
Arrange marshmallows on a lined baking sheet.
Broil marshmallows in the center of the oven on the middle rack for 30 seconds-1 minute {keep an eye on them} until they are warm and toasty brown.
Remove and carefully flip marshmallows over with a spatula then broil the other sides for 30 seconds-1 minute. Remove from oven.
Using a spatula, remove the marshmallows and place on the empty Ritz crackers.
Place on top of the remaining Ritz crackers with the chocolate and peanut butter.
Smush together and enjoy your sticky treat while it is still warm and gooey!
These red, white, and blue S’mores are messy and sticky and absolutely delicious!
Have lots of napkins handy!
Happy 4th of July friends!
Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did {especially chocolate lovin’ Ava}!
