Read Across America Day is March 2nd!

Dr. Seuss Week is a few days away so the girls and I made a fun snack inspired by one of our favorite Dr. Seuss books “Cat in the Hat”.

My daughter’s and I have been reading Dr. Seuss stories and watching the movies inspired by them for years and creating themed food makes story time and movie night even more fun!

Instructions

  • Take the peeled banana and cut into slices. You may need 1 or 1 1/2 depending on size.

I used three ingredients for the white and red Cat in the Hat top hat: bananas, strawberries, and mini donuts.

Any skewer or stick will work but I think wooden ones work best.

This is an easy hands on activity for kids to help with!

My little cutie Ava loves Dr Seuss and loves sweet treats just as much!

Take the peeled bananas and cut into slices.
Cut off the tip of each strawberry so it resembles the cone shape of the top of the hat.

Slice remaining parts of the strawberries, you should have 3 flat slices per skewer.

To make skewers: add a white powdered donut on the bottom of the skewer then layer on strawberry slice, banana,

strawberry slice, banana, strawberry slice, banana, and top with the strawberry cone top.

Repeat with remaining skewers, donuts, and fruit.

Serve and enjoy!
