These vibrant Easter eggs are naturally dyed blue and inspired by my kiddos favorite Disney cartoon, Bluey. 

Who is Bluey? Set in Australia, Bluey is a Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her mum, dad, and little sister, Bingo.  You can watch this adorable show on Disney+.

Stella loves Bluey and is even having a Bluey themed birthday party next month! Stay tuned for all the party details!

What you need:

6-8 large or XL eggs

1/2 head of purple cabbage, roughly chopped

2 tbsp salt

1 tbsp vinegar

card stock, cut into small strips

Bluey themed decal stickers

tape

Directions:

1. Bring a large pot of water to boil on the stove over medium high heat.

2. Gently add eggs and purple cabbage.

3. Next, add salt and vinegar.

4. Let boil for 10 minutes then remove from heat.

5. Let cool in the pot then place in the fridge for at least 6-8 hours. I like to leave it overnight.

6. Carefully remove eggs from the pot and place on a paper towel lined plate to dry off. Discard water and cabbage. 

7. Tape together small strips of cardstock into circles. They should be smaller than the width of the eggs.

8. Add tape to the back, bottom of the Bluey stickers and attach one to each of the cardstock egg holders.

9. Lastly, slip the dried eggs into the Bluey themed egg holders. 

10. Display your Bluey eggs for Easter or peel and use for egg salad or deviled eggs.

I first saw this Easter egg hack on Instagram and immediately thought of making them Bluey themed. 

All you need to naturally dye the eggs a pretty blue is purple cabbage, vinegar, salt, and boiling water. 

Bring a large pot of water to boil on the stove over medium high heat.

Gently add eggs and purple cabbage.

Next, add salt and vinegar.

Let boil for 10 minutes then remove from heat.

Let cool in the pot then place in the fridge for at least 6-8 hours. I like to leave it overnight.

Carefully remove eggs from the pot.

Place on a paper towel lined plate to dry off. Discard water and cabbage. 

The prettiest blue eggs!

I leave the backing on the stickers so they are sturdier and stay flat.

Lastly, slip the dried eggs into the Bluey themed egg holders. 

Display your Bluey eggs for Easter or peel and use for egg salad or deviled eggs.

This adorable DIY pumpkin has a fun Disney twist!

You can make this Mickey Mouse craft with only a few simple dollar store supplies and display at home this fall.

What you need:

1 small foam craft pumpkin

2 pack of door knob wall shields

craft knife

2 foam brushes

orange acrylic paint 

Mod Podge

small sandwich bag of rice or beans, for weight

small fake succulent plants

fake moss, optional

hot glue

Directions: 

1. Start by removing the foam stem and using a craft knife, cut a circle in the top and cut and scoop out the center foam until you have a opening to hold your succulent. 

2. Now paint your pumpkin and wall shields (both sides) . I used a pretty metallic orange paint and added 2 coats. 

3. Once the paint is dry, add a layer of Mod Podge to seal.

4. Add a cup or two of uncooked rice or dried beans to a baggie.

5. Seal and add the baggie to the opening of your pumpkin. This will weigh it down.

6. Cut a small slit on each side of the top of the pumpkin to hold the ears. Slide the painted wall shield “ears” into the top. 

7. Now add moss (optional), gluing around the outside of the opening. 

8. Finally, add your succulent plants to the opening. Optional: to secure it more you can glue the bottom leaves to the pumpkin. 

9. Display and enjoy your Disney fall creation!

Start with a small/medium foam craft pumpkin from Dollar Tree. 

You will also need a 2 pack of door knob wall shields which can also be found at Dollar Tree.

You can skip this step on the pumpkin but I think the craft pumpkins look much better when they have a solid gloss paint over them. 

Once the paint is dry, add a layer of Mod Podge to seal. I used the glossy kind. 

Add a cup or two of uncooked rice or dried beans to a baggie.

Seal and add the baggie to the opening of your pumpkin. This will weigh it down.

Cut a small slit on each side of the top of the pumpkin to hold the ears.

Slide the painted wall shield “ears” into the top. 

Now add moss (optional), gluing around the outside of the opening. 

Then add your succulent plants to the opening. Optional: to secure it more you can glue the bottom leaves to the pumpkin. 

Display and enjoy your fall Disney creation!

These painted pumpkins are a fun and easy Halloween craft inspired by Disney’s Hocus Pocus! 

What you need:

3 small/medium sized pumpkins with tall attached stems (I used white) 

White, red, and black acrylic paint

paint brushes

pencil

3 balls of yarn (one yellow, one red, and one purple)

small strip of cardboard

Directions:

1. Start by washing and drying your pumpkins.

2. Using a pencil draw outlines of the witch mouths including their signature lips and teeth on each pumpkin. 

3. Then using acrylic paint and small brushes, paint the teeth white, lips red, and inside of the mouths black. 

4. I also added a couple black moles for the Sarah and Mary witches. 

5. Let dry completely then start on the hair. 

6. For the hair you will need three colors of yarn. 

7. For Mary, use purple yarn and simply twist up and cover the entire pumpkin stem, making it as thick as possible.  

8. For Sarah, use a small yellow yarn skein (the oblong roll of yarn), fold in half and insert the stem through the middle

so it folds in half and look like a head of long hair. 

9. Finally, for Winnie use a small rectangle piece of cardboard and wrap red yard around the pumpkin stem and then holding the cardboard horizontally above the stem, keep wrapping around the red yard completely covering the cardboard too. It should look like Winnie’s funny hairstyle!

10. Now you have the three Sanderson Sisters as mini pumpkins. Set out as a festive and fun Halloween display for all to see!

My girls and I love Halloween and all the fun traditions like dressing up and decorating pumpkins together every year.

Last year they dressed up as Amelia Earhart and Addison from Disney’s Zombies. 

For the past few years we have entered the pumpkin decorating contest at our local library.

Last year all pumpkins had to be inspired by a book and with the new Hocus Pocus graphic novel recently released we knew right away we wanted

to make The Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus. 

These simple painted pumpkins turned out so stinkin’ cute and although

they didn’t win the contest they were my favorites that we’ve made in years!

After the contest was over, I put them on display on the railing in my front porch. 

“Sistahhhs!”

Ava also created a sloth pumpkin inspired by her favorite animal and the book “The Sloth Who Slowed Us Down”.

This year I have been more crafty than ever! I have made quite a few ornaments and these Mickey and Minnie Ornaments might just be my favorite yet!

What you need:

• Multi colored glitter ornaments, in 2 sizes {I used mini and medium}
• small bows
• hot glue gun
• ornament hooks
• scissors
• Optional: clear ornaments, Disney stickers, and fillers (like bells, glitter, and fake snow)

Directions:

1. Remove the top off of each small ornament and using sharp scissors, cut the raised top off each ornament and discard.
2. Glue two small ornaments cut side down on top of a bigger matching ornaments to be the ears and create a Mickey head! 
3. Glue on a small bow in the center top to make Minnie.
4. Optional: fill clear ornaments with foam balls, glitter, bells, or fake snow.
5. Add a Disney decal, paper cutout, or sticker to the front.
6. Add ornament hooks and hang on your tree or wrap as a gift!

Start with a few simple supplies from the Dollar Tree or Walmart.

I picked up multicolored medium size and mini glitter colored ornaments, small glitter bows, and glue. 

Remove the top off of each small ornament and using sharp scissors, cut the raised top off each ornament and discard.

Glue two small ornaments cut side down on top of a bigger matching ornaments to be the ears and create a Mickey head.

Glue on a small bow in the center top to make Minnie.

Mix and match colors if you’d like and add an ornament hook and you’re done!

If you don’t want to make Mickey ear ornaments you can fill and decorate them instead.

You can choose different fillers for your ornaments too. 

I used clear ornaments to fill. Small and medium size. Glass or plastic both work well.

Fill them then add Disney decals to keep with the theme!

All the different fillings look so pretty!

Decorated with Mickey stickers, paper cutouts, and bows.

Halloween Movie Night is made even better with bewitching Hocus Pocus Halloween Treat Board for sharing during the show!

Hocus Pocus Halloween Candy Treat Board

Ingredients:

Hocus Pocus themed cookies, assorted

Halloween themed candies like M&Ms, Oreos, popcorn, Reese’s Cups, KitKats, and Sour Candies 

Homemade themed treats like Witch’s Hat Cookies, Peanut Butter Haystacks, Spell Book Brownies, Witch Finger Pretzels, and Marshmallow Cereal Bars

Halloween themes Marshmallows and Cotton Candy

This dessert tray was inspired by these fun Hocus Pocus themed cookies I ordered for the Hocus Pocus 2 premier night last month! 

I collected a bag of random Halloween themed candies from different events and stores such as

&M’s, candy corn flavored popcorn, ghost shaped marshmallows, and spider web cotton candy.

I knew these would be a fun treat for movie night and Halloween!

Start with a large platter or board. I have a big square wood board from Aldi that I love. 

Add your cookies in the center since they are the “stars” of the board. 

Now add cookies cutters and small bowls in corners and other open spaces. 

Then start to fill in the holes with larger candies like marshmallows and popcorn. 

I also saved a few of each of my Hocus Pocus treats I have made this year to add to our board!

I found these Zombie sour candies I knew my kids would love!

Inspired by Billy Butcherson in the movie!

Add all your treats including chocolates and candies. 

Fill in the cookies cutters (witch hat and black cat) with small candies like M&Ms. 

Finally what is Hocus Pocus without the spell book, right?

I made boxed brownies and cut a few in rectangles and decorated with black icing and a candy eye. 

Add these to your board.

All done and ready to eat!

It’s all a bunch of HOCUS POCUS~

We are busy preparing for our Hocus Pocus 2 outdoor movie screening on premiere night, September 30th. 

I decided to create these two Hocus Pocus printable movie night signs to display and jazzed them up even more with a simple Sanderson Sisters fabric covered canvas.

What you need:

Hocus Pocus or Halloween themed fabric, at least 1/2 a yard per canvas decorated sign.

11 x13 or 16×20 plain, flat art canvas

staple gun

fabric scissors

fabric glue, Mod Podge, or hot glue

Hocus Pocus Movie Sign (download below)

Directions: 

1. Start by laying the fabric flat on a table with the print side facing down.
2. Place your canvas, front side down, on top and leaving only a slight overhang to staple the fabric to the back, trim off the rest of the fabric using fabric (or super sharp) scissors. 
3. Now fold over the excess fabric on the back of the canvas. Be sure to keep it straight so the front looks even.
4. Slowly staple the fabric excess down along the back edge, going all around the canvas about every few inches or so. Fold over excess on the corners and staple also.
5. Print out one or two Hocus Pocus movie signs. 
6. Flip the canvas over and add fabric glue or Mod Podge to the back of the paper sign. 
7. Place in the center on the front of the canvas.
8. Smooth down and press to secure. 
9. Let dry then hang and display for movie night!

There are two ways to make this sign.

1. You can simply print out the 8×11 signs (link below to download) . Frame or hang up on a table or door for your movie night.
2. You can jazz it up a bit and cover a canvas with Hocus Pocus fabric and glue your signs to the canvas. Details below!

I found these three Hocus Pocus character fabrics at Joanne Fabrics. 

You can also order this Hocus Pocus fabric on Amazon . 

I ordered a yard of each but I only needed about half that for this project. 

Start by choosing your canvas. 

I went with two 16×20 sized canvases so I would have lots of space around my 8×11 signs in the middle. 

11×13 would work well too. 

Start by laying the fabric flat on a table with the print side facing down.

Place your canvas, front side down, on top and leaving only a slight overhang to staple the fabric to the back, trim off the rest of the fabric using fabric (or super sharp) scissors. 

Save the extra fabric for another project.
