Creamy Deli Style Seafood Crab Salad

Creamy Seafood Salad is one of my favorite deli items from my local grocery store.
It is simple to make and the perfect flavorful salad to serve this summer. Make it with both shrimp and crab or just use extra flaked crab on it’s own.
Be sure to use Hellman’s mayo. I tested many brands and it was the best for this recipe!
This is such a simple meal to prepare and
delicious served with sliced watermelon and coleslaw and potato salad.
The mini sandwiches are one of our favorite summer picnic foods!

For this recipe I use a combo of baby shrimp and imitation crab.
Pictured here is crab leg style but I prefer flaked for the right texture in the salad.
I use one large package of flake style crab and roughly chop it.
I am not a fan of big chucks in my seafood salads so I make sure to finely dice the celery.
Add the first four ingredients to a large bowl.
Now add 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice {about 1/4 of a lemon}.
Finally mix in your seasonings: 1/4 tsp Old Bay seasoning and salt/white pepper, to taste.
Mix until combined then chill until ready to serve.

Serve alone, on bread, or with crackers.
My kids like crab salad on it’s own and on Hawaiian sweet bread buns.

In the pic right after the celery half chopped it looks like mayo and another substance white than mayo like sour cream in the bowl. Is there another ingredient not on the list?

Ha! I should have mentioned that! I prefer Hellman’s style mayo to have a similar taste and texture of a deli style salad. But I ran out when photographing this recipe so I used half Hellman’s and half Duke’s mayo (which is thicker and a slightly different color).

Roasted red peppers, a must. Just like Publix.
