Inspired by Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss,
this fun and easy at home science experiment only requires three ingredients and is fun for kids to make and play with!

Oobleck
noun. Oo·bleck ˈü-ˌblek. : a mixture of corn starch and water that behaves like a liquid when at rest and like a solid when pressure is applied.
A quick tap on the surface of Oobleck will make it feel hard, because it forces the cornstarch particles together.
DIY Oobleck
Ingredients
- 2 Cups cornstarch
- 1 Cup water
- 5-10 Drops of green food coloring
Instructions
- Add 1 cup of water to a measuring cup then add the green food coloring. I start with 5 drops and if you want it darker add a few more. Mix it with a spoon until fully colored.
- In a large bowl or rectangular container combine the cornstarch and colored water.
- At first, it will be thick but slowly add more water if needed. I think it is easier- and more fun- to mix it up with your hands!
- Now you have ooey gooey, oh so fun, Oobleck to play with!

I can’t think of anything more fun for kids than slime. I enjoy this one because it won’t irritate the skin like a lot of these DIY slime recipes can. This is great!
