I am excited to be participating in the Good Cookies Food Bloggers’ Valentine’s Event again this year!
Today I am sharing a fun recipe that is both a delicious treat and a great way to get the kiddos to eat their fruit! Fruit Filled Chocolate Waffle Cones are a must have for Valentine’s Day! Check out the round up of Valentine’s recipes below in the Good Cookie Food Bloggers Valentine’s Event benefiting the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer!

This is the second year for our Valentine’s event!

We want to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer!Did you know that cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. With less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget going to all childhood cancer combined, I knew it was important for me to get involved.

Help us make a difference by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! Our goal is to raise at least $3000.

Because these three companies: Dixie Crystals, Mediavine and OXO have each pledged to match our donations raised through this campaign up to $3000!!!

Thanks to many of you, we have reached our goal. You can still donate and help us make an even bigger difference!Donate here.

  • 1 pint of blueberries

Instructions

  • Using a spoon or small spatula spread the melted chocolate on the opening sides of each waffle cone.
  • Add the sprinkles all over the melted chocolate.
  • Set aside in a tall glass to let dry.
  • When ready to serve, fill each cone with fresh fruit. I used berries and pineapple.

I used two kinds of waffle cones. The smaller ones are from the ice cream section at the grocery store and the large red ones are from our local Dunkin Donuts.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave, heating for 45 seconds then stirring and reheating
 until smooth when stirred.
Set up a decorating station for the cones!
You can use any sprinkles you would like {I chose Valentine’s hearts}.

I started with my favorite melted semi soft chocolate then spread it
on to the waffle cone and add sprinkles.

Then I add melted white chocolate to the red cones.

Add lots of colorful sprinkles!

Set aside in a tall glass to let dry.

Just about any fresh fruit works for this recipe but I chose berries and pineapple.

Once the cones are dry it’s time to fill them!

Fill with colorful fresh fruit and serve.

Happy girls with their waffle cone dessert!

Dessert is served and it’s almost too pretty to eat!
