It’s Movie Monday again and that means we are sharing another tasty recipe inspired by this month’s move theme! This month’s theme is Winter & Christmas Movies and I knew right away I wanted to do a Grinch inspired recipe from one of our favorite holiday classics, How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

My kids and I enjoy Dr Seuss books and the movies inspired by them and this hilarious tale is a Christmas favorite! I like both the cartoon version and the Jim Carrey Grinch movie and I wanted to make a appetizer perfect for nibbling while watching the movie. Grinch themed parties are also popular during Christmas season too and green Grinch recipes are fun to make and eat!
After some taste tasting, I created a simple but fun recipe: Grinched Eggs, my green take on Deviled Eggs.
My kids love em’ and got a kick out of the green eggs and filling. Even better, they take only a few minutes to make and are a hit at parties!

On the last Monday of each month, a group of bloggers participate in a #MovieMondayChallenge, hosted by C’mon Get Crafty! We decide on a topic, genre, or specific movie to use for inspiration and everyone gets free reign to create something wonderful!

  • 6 eggs hard boiled
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1-2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • green food coloring

  • 2 cups warm water

Instructions

  • Peel the eggs and cut in half width wise.
  • Gently scoop out yolks and place in a bowl.
  • Break up yolks with a fork then mix in mayo, mustard, and seasonings to taste. I sometimes add chives or relish too.
  • Stir until smooth then add a few drops of green food coloring. Set aside.
  • Add warm water to a medium bowl and add vinegar.
  • Add 6 drops of green food coloring and stir.
  • Add the boiled egg white halves to the water and let sit for at least 3 minutes then flip and let sit for another few minutes.
  • Remove eggs from the water and pat dry.
  • Spoon yolk filling into the egg white halves, place on a platter, and chill until ready to serve.

❤️This week marks 2 years since our beloved cocker spaniel Dylan passed away. I created this free printable Rainbow Bridge poem on the blog in honor of Dylan. It can be customized with your pet's photo and would be a cherished framed gift for someone who has lost a special pet. #rainbowbridge #doglove #dogheaven #rip #mydog #neverforgotten #rainbowbridge🌈

🌯Late #CincoDeMayo post! My first visit to @forttacostl last night was delicious! I tried a variety and loved it all. They were out of pork but that gives me an excuse to go back and try the al pastor pork and homemade sauce next time!

We spent Earth Day 2022 in Springfield at the picnic and a movie event in the gardens. It was the perfect sunny afternoon with a breeze and we shared a delicious charcuterie picnic and watched "Bee Movie". The girls did crafts, played in the park, listened to speakers and poetry, and @theparkboard gave us a tree to take home. We had a great time and everyone slept the whole drive home (except Mom)! #earthday2022 #springfieldmo #missourilife #movienight #earthday #picnic #familyfun
