Happy 4th of July friends!

Today we celebrate this great country and the independence we all enjoy.
Thank you to all the brave men and women in the armed services, including my husband, for fighting for our freedom!

Today I am sharing my homemade Cherry Sorbet recipe. Fresh cherries are frozen then blended with simple syrup and lemon juice for a delicious, fresh, and icy cool treat to enjoy on a hot summer day!

The girls loved watching the fireworks in Alexandria on Saturday!
Hope you have a fun and safe holiday weekend.

  • First make simple syrup. In a small sauce add water and sugar and bring to a boil.
  • Stir until sugar is dissolved then remove from heat and let cool completely.
  • Add frozen, pitted cherries to a blender or large food processor.
  • Add in simple syrup and lemon juice.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour into a loaf pan, smoothing out the top and place in the freezer {for at least a few hours or overnight if you have time}.
  • Remove from freezer and scoop into cones or cups.

I love using plump and sweet cherries in recipes all summer long!
After washing you need to pit your cherries.
To easily pit cherries, poke a straw through the center and it will remove the pit and stem.
I added my cherries to a large freezer bag and placed in the freezer overnight.
Once frozen, add to a large food processor.
Pour in simple syrup
{which is one cup water and one cup sugar boiled together and cooled}.
Pour in lemon juice.
Now time to blend up!
Blend on high speed in a food processor or blender until smooth.
Look at that gorgeous color!
Pour into a loaf pan, smoothing out the top and place in the freezer {for at least a few hours or overnight if you have time}.
Remove from the freezer and scoop out into cones or bowls.
It is perfectly smooth and soft and delicious!
My little ladies enjoyed a scoop of Cherry Sorbet outside last night.
Sunset and Sorbet- perfection!
I can’t get enough of these two!
Can you tell they enjoyed it?
My messy little Stella Rose.
She never stops eating.
Sugar high! She sure did love her sorbet!
Enjoy your fresh and delicious cool treat!
