Valentine’s Brunch at The Melting Pot~ Turtle Cheesecake Fondue

I celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early with a decadent brunch at The Melting Pot and then a matinee of “Just Go With It”. Since I’m sure to be crazy busy at work tomorrow, on actual Vday, we thought celebrating early would be nice and certainly less crowded and busy.

If you haven’t tried The Melting Pot you have no idea what you are missing! It’s a fondue restaurant with a one of a kind menu. I will say that they are expensive and we usually dine here once or twice a year on special occasions. Here’s a thrifty tip: go to your favorite restaurant for lunch or brunch instead of dinner. That’s what we did and we enjoyed the same special Vday dinner menu at brunch for $46 less!  http://www.meltingpot.com/

Also check out the Love Martini recipe here.

Decadent Turtle Cheesecake Fondue

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces  milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup  chopped pecans
  • 4 ounces  cubed softened Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup  caramel ice cream topping

Instructions

  • Pour chocolate in a bowl and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds.
  • Stir and heat again until mostly melted. Be careful not to burn the chocolate.
  • Pour chocolate, caramel, pecans, and cream cheese into a electric fondue pot on med heat.
  • If you don't have an electric fondue pot simply warm in a saucepan on med-low.
  • Once ingredients are melted together set your fondue pot to warm.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers (I like strawberries and pineapple) and enjoy!

For my first #WheretoEatWednesday, I am sharing a local NWA favorite: Rein Sushi and Hibachi. Located in downtown Springdale, AR, they recently celebrated their 1 year anniversary. We dined here orignally when they first opened. It was a lunch date, and I remember loving the atmosphere and having great service, but we ordered hibachi and skipped the sushi during that visit. It was good, but I knew I needed to go back and have an adventurous sushi meal to really see what they were all about!

Flash forward to this spring when we finally made time for a family lunch date on my husband's birthday, and I knew just where to go! When we arrived, the staff at Rein was so welcoming and kind. The small dining area has fun swinging seats and an open sushi bar. It may be small but does not feel crowded at all and is very open and bright. When we were sat, the co-owner and chef Rei came over to greet us and recommended skipping the menu and dining on a selection of his favorites and the restaurant's most popular appetizers and sushi. Let me tell you, if the chef offers to send over his dishes of choice instead of ordering off the menu, always say YES! It was all beautifully crafted, amazingly fresh, and absolutely delicious! Some of our favorites included the Crab Wonton Nachos and Monkey Brain Stuffed Avocado appetizers and the spicy Smokey Ozark Sashimi. The sushi at Rein is hands down the best I have had in the area, and I kid you not when I say every single piece I ate made me close my eyes in ecstasy! To top off our amazing meal, we shared a creamy slice of Yuzu Cheesecake, which is now my new favorite.

So next time you are craving sushi, hibachi, and fresh seafood, check out Rein Sushi and Hibachi for lunch or dinner. They are open 6 days a week (closed on Sunday) and are truly one of the best meals you will have in NWA! Stay tuned for a gift card giveaway later today.

Ava and I attended an upcycled jewelry tree craft class for Earth Day at @bentonvillepubliclibrary tonight. We used mostly broken earrings, charms, and miscellaneous trinkets from home glued on top of twisted wire to create this unique art. I included pieces from my childhood and from my Nana. Mine still has to be glued at home (I ran out of time, of course), but I love how they turned out! #EarthDay2025 #librarylove #makerspace #upcycledart #jewleryart #bentonvillear
