Summer time is here and that means picnics, barbecues, and lots of family gatherings for us!
I am a big fan of dips as appetizers at parties because they are easy to make and serve and can be prepared in advance so there’s no stress the day of!
This dip was pretty much devoured by my onion lovin’ husband so I would say that means it’s the bomb!
Serve it at your next gathering and watch it disappear.

Caramelized French Onion Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 Vidalia onions sliced (I like bigger pieces but you can dice if you prefer)
  • 8 oz cream cheese spread softened
  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • salt/black pepper to taste
  • olive oil for saute

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a few swirls of olive oil.
  • Add sliced onions and saute stirring occasionally until golden brown and caramelized, about 25 minutes.
  • Remove onto a paper towel lined plate to cool. I also blot with a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • While the onions are cooking, combine yogurt, cream cheese, Worcestershire, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  • Season with salt and cracked black pepper to taste.
  • Mix onions gently into dip.
  • Chill at least 1 hour or overnight for better flavor, prior to serving.
  • Serve with veggies, chips, or crackers and enjoy!

Start with two beautiful Vidalia onions, my personal favorite!
Slice them into thin rings and slices.
I like the bigger pieces in my dip but if you want a less chunky texture try dicing the onions.
Add to a large skillet over medium heat with a couple tbsps of olive oil.
Saute and caramelize until softened and golden brown, about 25 minutes.
Drain on a paper towel lined plate and let cool.
Blot off any excess oil from the onions.
The main ingredients for the rest of this creamy, flavor packed dip!
Combine yogurt, cream cheese, Worcestershire, and garlic powder in a bowl.
Season with salt and cracked black pepper to taste.
Gently stir in caramelized onions.

Chill at least 1 hour or overnight for better flavor, prior to serving.
Serve with veggies, chips, or crackers and enjoy!
I just love this chunky, creamy dip with just about anything!
Serve this at your next barbecue. I promise there won’t be any left!
