St Patty’s Day is almost here and I decided to make a family friendly drink this year that everyone would love. I knew I wanted something green and something Irish inspired. After some trial and error,  so I came up with this festive Lucky Irish Cream and Pistachio Milkshake ! Creamy pistachio ice cream is blended with milk and poured into a chilled glass drizzled with chocolate Irish Cream flavored syrup then topped with homemade Irish cream whipped cream and fun sprinkles! Lucky for you I’m sharing the recipe below!

If you’ve never made homemade whipped cream before, you are missing out!
It only takes a couple ingredients and it is hands down better than any store bought kind!
check out my recipe for Irish Cream Whipped Cream below.

Makes 1 16oz milkshake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup plus 1/2 tsp Irish Cream flavoring syrup
  • 1 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • green sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the Irish Cream whipped cream by mixing together the heavy cream and 1/4 cup Irish Cream syrup on high in a chilled mixing bowl until creamy and fluffy. Chill until ready to serve.
  • In a small bowl mix together chocolate syrup and remaining 1/2 tsp Irish Cream syrup.
  • Drizzle the inside of a large chilled milkshake glass with flavored chocolate syrup.
  • Add milk and pistachio ice cream to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour into the glass.
  • Top with Irish Cream whipped cream, drizzle on more chocolate syrup and add green sprinkles and a straw.

 I love this creamy gelato!
The color is very light though so you can try a different brand of ice cream or even add a few drops of green food coloring if you want the festive green color more pronounced,
I am a big fan of Torani syrups for flavoring my coffee drinks.
I found this Irish Cream flavor at Kroger.
In a small bowl mix together chocolate syrup and remaining 1/2 tsp Irish Cream syrup.

Drizzle the inside of a large chilled milkshake glass with flavored chocolate syrup.
Add 1 cup milk to a blender.
Add pistachio ice cream. I added about 6-7 scoops.
Blend until smooth.

Pour into the glass.
Top with Irish Cream whipped cream and add green sprinkles and a straw.
I also drizzle on more chocolate syrup because more chocolate is always a good thing, right?
Happy St Patty’s week!

St Patrick's Day comfort food at it's best! For dinner I made Irish Potato Colcannon. This traditional Irish side dish is a combination of three of my favorites: creamy mashed potatoes, buttery cabbage, and crunchy bacon. Recipe on the blog. 🍀🍀🍀
