Movie Night Snack Necklaces | Mother’s Day Recap

We are a movie lovin’ family and one of our favorite things to do together is cuddle up and watch a movie on our nights off together. We love going to our local theater, with their cozy recliners and awesome kids meals {they actually have homemade hummus and yogurt parfaits!} and also just having movie nights at home on the couch.
For Mother’s Day this year that is exactly what I wanted- movie night with my family! We went to see Ugly Dolls which surprisingly was a great movie with a positive message and a killer soundtrack.

My girls were singing through the whole thing and we had a blast! I decided we would make these fun Movie Night Snack Necklaces for movie night, both at home and at the theater. They are easy to make with any snack that you can string on and were a tasty treat during the show!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely Moms out there!
Love this photo from Flower Vault in San Antonio of my Mom, myself, and my two daughters.
I am truly blessed!

Mother’s Day morning with my girls and all their homemade gifts.
Ava’s gift from school. I love it soooo much!
On Mother’s Day this year my girls and I went on our movie date and then found a charming ramen and sushi restaurant in Springfield called Omo Japanese Soul Food.
My little foodies loved their meal and their special green tea and mochi for dessert.
How did I get so lucky?!

After our meal we ended our eventful day with a trip to Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, which is the largest in the country! It has it’s own aquarium, restaurants, photo gallery, cafes, museums, and of course, a huge store! We checked out the fish, shared a piece of fudge on the screened in patio, played in the toy section, and even took a complementary Mother’s Day photo provided by the store.
Such great memories!
Ashton had to work on Mother’s Day but we made sure to had a family day before. We made jewelry holders together at Michael’s and had a fantastic time! Check out their weekend craft classes.
The only cost was the 99 cent frame!

Ingredients:

Makes 6 necklaces

  • 1/2 cup Pretzel Crisps
  • 1/2 cup shaped Pop Chips
  • 1/2 cup Cherrios
  • 1/2 cup Froot Loops
  • 1/2 cup yogurt covered mini pretzels
  • 1/2 cup circle shaped chocolate covered shortbread cookies

Directions:

  • Using yarn or string {as thin as possible to thread}, cut to desired length for necklaces.
  • Thread on snacks, as many as you want. We added about 25 pieces.
  • Tie the necklace in a knot at the end and wear around your neck for your movie night.
  • Simply bite off your snacks and enjoy!

You can use any snacks you want that have holes so they can be strung on the string or yarn.
We used cereal, pretzels, and mini cookies.

Ava, my craftiest kid, loved making her necklace and even made a pattern.
We added about 25 pieces on each.
These would be fun for slumber parties too!
They couldn’t help but snack on their necklaces to “try them out”!
All cuddled up and ready for our movie!

The many faces of Stella! I think she liked them!
Here’s a flashback from 3 years ago (!!!). How time flies! My sweet girls love crafting and made painted pots and flower pens for Mother’s Day. Check out this craft and over 60 others in my Mother’s Day Kids Craft Roundup.

🍳 How fun is this April Fool's Day breakfast egg prank?! My kids love all the silly tricks we do on April 1st so this year I thought of a new one to really fool them. I served "sunny side up eggs" for breakfast, two different ways! Check out the details on the blog. 😂😂😂

Time to be transparent. I have been struggling for a while now. I feel like I lost myself years ago. Self worth is so important and I am just now starting to love and focus on me again. I am not striving to be perfect but I am so excited to be a healthier, happier me this year.

Sundays are for brunchin' 🍳 🥓
My girls and I had a delicious meal at the one of a kind @wellmetcafe . Standouts were the Tokyo Fog drink with yuzu and boba which tasted like Fruit Loops and the amazing Onyx bacon and soft scrambled eggs with creme fraiche.
Next time I can't wait to try the avocado toast and the Taking Back Sunday chicken sandwich. 🥑

One of my favorite quiet spots in all of Missouri - beautiful Roubidoux Springs in Waynesville, MO. We spent so many afternoons here fishing, splashing, hunting for treasures, skipping rocks, having picnics, and cuddling our dogs. I loved being able to visit again yesterday and enjoy the serene environment and warm sunshine. A must see! ☀️
