Spider Popcorn and Candy Hands and our Halloween Recap

Every year for Halloween Ava and I create something fun to give her friends in her music class.
Everyone is already overloaded with candy so I thought popcorn would be a fun treat. I had seen similar treats called Witch’s Hands but we decided to make our a little different {and more festive}.
We decided to fill gloves with popcorn, complete with a few Halloween sprinkles and candy corn fingernails, and then for a final touch we taped on glitter spiders and a lollipop {because it is Halloween and you have to give them candy 😉 }. They turned out great and Ava enjoyed helping me and her friends loved them, of course!
These treats were made for Halloween but you can customize them for any holiday! Wouldn’t they be cute for Christmas or Valentine’s Day?

Scroll down for the recipe and check out our Halloween pics too!

Spider Popcorn and Candy Hands

Makes 12 hands

Ingredients

  • 3 bags of microwave popcorn {I used kettle corn}
  • 12 lollipops
  • 60 pieces of candy corn
  • Halloween sprinkles or candy pieces optional
  • Non latex foodsafe disposable gloves
  • plastic spiders
  • ribbon

Instructions

  • Pop all the popcorn and place in a large bowl or two to cool down.
  • Drop a piece of candy corn, white part first, into each of the five fingers of each glove. These are the nails.
  • Fill all the gloves with popcorn, making sure to fill the fingers and hand all the way.
  • Tie securely with ribbon.
  • Use tape to attach a plastic spider to the front of each glove.
  • Use tape to attach a lollipop to each thumb.
  • Give to all your friends and enjoy your spooky treat!

I found these disposable gloves at Wal-Mart.
I got non latex {some kids are allergic} and food safe.
Pop a few bags of popcorn. I chose kettle corn,
since it’s sweet and salty and oh so yummy!
Add a few Halloween sprinkles if you would like.
Fill each gloves fingers with a candy corn, white side first, to look like fingernails.
You could also use jellybeans.
Not will with popcorn, tie with a ribbon, and add any extras you would like.
I taped on glitter spiders and added a lollipop on each thumb.
How cute are these? Simple to make and a hit with the kids!
These are not just for Halloween either.
Customize them for any holiday including Christmas and Valentine’s Day!
Ava and I have a tradition of “booing” the neighbors. You put together a basket of Halloween themed goodies and leave them anonymously on their doorstep. The idea is that they will boo you, and other neighbors, back! Check out www.booitforward.com.
I got lucky and scored 2 matching secondhand Old Navy Cupcake Costumes for my girls!
Total cost: $7! Score!
I had Ava’s cupcake hat made and I am obsessed with how stinkin’ adorable it is!
We attend quite a few Halloween events every year so we get to dress you all week long!
Here we are at a local church’s Fall Fest.
Music Class {www.musictogether.com} is also another fun time
to dress up… and give out treats!
Ashton’s work hosted a Halloween Party this year,
which was a blast for my little ones.
We went trick or treating of course!
The weather was rainy but we managed to go both Friday and Saturday night.
Ava and Stella switched it up and became a Princess and Dragon the second night.
Our babies were cupcakes so we had to carve a cupcake in our pumpkin obviously!
Matching jammies for my little Halloween babies.
Even sweet Dylan wore his Halloween pjs!

Hope you had a fun Halloween too! Comment below
and tell me what Halloween treats you made this year.

Everyone keeps asking if we are settled yet. Nope. Still sorting, unpacking, donating, rearranging, organizing, and eating a cookie every now and then.
