Crock-Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham

When my husband requested baked ham for our Christmas in August celebration, I knew I wanted to make a tasty version for him, but since I had a huge dinner to make on my own, I wanted to make it as easy as possible. So, as it often does, my Crock-Pot came to the rescue!

You are going to love this brown sugar and pineapple crusted ham. It’s so tender it just falls apart and the best thing- just throw it in the Crock-Pot for six hours and forget about it!

Also check out my newest ham recipe: Crock-Pot Blackberry Glazed Ham.

I created these delicious Leftover Holiday Ham Baked Sliders with my leftovers from Christmas dinner including this Crock-Pot Ham, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.

I found this delicious spiral ham at Sam’s Club.
I have used ham anywhere from 3-7 lbs for this recipe.
Lay a base of brown sugar on the bottom of the Crock-Pot.

Place your cooked ham on top of the sugar.
Pour a can of pineapple tidbits with juice on top of the ham. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.

Look at this juicy, sweet ham!

This is going to be a recipe I use for many holidays to come.

This ham made my Christmas in August dinner a lot easier and my husband

is still raving about the delicious ham!

I came across your recipe today looking for a ham glaze that doesn't include mustard. I'm trying something similar to this, except not in the crockpot. Wish me luck!

Add dry mustard powder to the sugar … gives a spicy mustard glaze.

I'm not a very experienced cook , but i have a question about a Pre-Cooked Ham & 6 – 8 Hours time in the Crockpot / Slowcooker. Would this not dry the Ham Out ?

Oh yes! We made this today exactly as the recipe stated.
The ham was far too dry and tough.

You could try adding another juice like apple or substitute water or broth. I would say 1 cup.

I made it for Christmas and it was okay, but I won’t make it for Christmas again 😔 I prefer mine.
It was okay, just not for a Christmas holiday meal and it wasn’t crispy like recipe stated it was tender but dry on top.
Followed the recipe to the letter 🤔 so not sure what happened.
          Was bummed 😔

Sorry it was not your favorite holiday ham! Mine is always juicy but you could also baste with the juices a couple times. Also, as mentioned, you can pop it in the oven under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp the top.

We made this for Christmas 2020 and yes after 4 hours on low it dried out what was a great ham. It made the ham tough. The crockpot was at least half full of juices.

So sorry that happened. I have made this almost 100 times and it always comes juicy and tender! Not sure if your lid was not on completely? I know that it can dry out that way. I have tented it with aluminum foil when it is too large for the lid to fit properly and it still comes out great.

I’m sorry that happened. Was your lid on correctly? You can also cover the top in aluminum foil. The ham juices and pineapple keep my ham moist every time. Also adjust your heat and time according to your ham and slowcooker. Low heat for atleast 1-2 hours is ok since the ham is precooked.

No, the brown sugar and pineapples make a nice glaze the you baste over the top of your ham . The ham stays moist. And the crockpot is on low..

If I use a whole boneless ham will the flavor get into the ham? Or should I have it sliced and then tie it together so it doesn't fall apart. That way the flavor will be able to get into the ham. Also, we like honey ham so if I put some honey in there will it get a honey flavor as well?

I was wondering how you got the nice crusty outer shell on the ham. Did you bake in oven at 375 for 15 to 20 mins, or does it get that way just "sitting"? Also, I don't see the previous comments about "no bone" in ham! What am I missing?

People need to think back to the first time they tried something new. A ham is not cheap, so you don't want to ruin it. What's wrong with asking questions if it's not clear to YOU? This is what's wrong with the internet—it's full of people who can't wait to put others down.

Sure, absolutely no problem with asking questions that haven't been addressed, either in messages or recipe text and/or pictures. Please just make sure that you watch the video, read the text, etc. Let's remember that others are spending their precious time posting these recipes and have included quite a lot of information in order to help us re-create them. Let's invest OUR time in reading and watching…creating an investment that in the end, produces something good and positive. While I agree that we can sometimes be too sensitive, I also feel that we tend to want others to do most of the work while we just reap the benefits. Nice recipe! 🙂

i hate to be a spoil sport but a browned crunchy coating on a ham like the one in the cover photo can not be obtained by cooking solely in a slow cooker. The boneless ham does appear to have been cooked in a slow cooker with pineapple as it is paler without brown crust. A skillet, hot oven, grill or broiler is required for significant browning. The liquid from pineapple tendsto prevent crunchy browned crusts.

If you have a Crock-Pot big enough for a larger ham sure add more juice!

Is it possible to use something other than pineapple? Or maybe use half pineapple and half something else? Looks delicious!

You could use just pineapple juice, or even coke or rootbeer. Someone else mentioned they've used cherry juice…maybe maraschino cherry juice?
