These Peeps Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats are made with multi colored marshmallow Peeps and shaped into Easter eggs. I love this colorful take on two of my favorites: Rice Krispie Treats and Peeps marshmallows!

Peeps Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats

Makes 24 or more eggs

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 5 3- ounce packages Marshmallow Peeps {10 peeps each in 5 different colors}
  • 7 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  • Line a 9 inch loaf pan with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  • Divide the Peeps by 10s of the same color. I used 10 pink, 10 yellow, 10 blue, 10 green, and 10 purple.
  • In a large microwaveable bowl, microwave 10 of the same color Peeps with 1 tablespoon of butter on high for 45 seconds.
  • Watch Peeps closely so they don't rise and overflow.
  • Using a spatula coated in cooking spray, stir butter and Peeps together until fully melted and incorporated.
  • Stir in 1½ cups of cereal until fully coated.
  • Press firmly into the loaf pan.
  • Repeat steps with all the other Peeps colors.
  • Allow to cool completely then lift out of pan, remove aluminum foil, and slice into 1 inch wide bars {12 total}.
  • Using an egg shaped cookie cutter/s cut out egg shapes. I got about 2 medium eggs per slice.
  • Place in decorative bags and tie to give as Easter gifts.
  • They will last up to a week in a sealed container.
