I am excited to be participating in the Good Cookies Food Bloggers’ Valentine’s Event again this year! Today I am sharing a delicious cookie recipe made with all my favorite dessert ingredients: cream cheese, red velvet, and Oreo cookies! Red Velvet and Cream Cheese Oreo Cookies are an easy five ingredient treat to make this Valentine’s Day! Check out the round up of Valentine’s recipes below in the Good Cookie Food Bloggers Valentine’s Event benefiting the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer!
This is the third year for our Valentine’s event! We want to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer! Did you know that cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. With less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget going to all childhood cancer combined, I knew it was important for me to get involved. Help us make a difference by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! Our goal is to raise at least $3000. Because these three companies: Dixie Crystals, Mediavine and OXO have each pledged to match our donations raised through this campaign up to $3000!

Thanks to many of you, we have reached our goal. You can still donate and help us make an even bigger difference! Donate here.

Also, Baked with Love t-shirts and tote bags are on sale in Julie’s shop. You can preorder this week only! All proceeds of Baked with Love product sales will be donated to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer!

So grateful for the food and baking goodies from our three sponsors: Dixie Crystals, Mediavine and OXO and their matching donations!

Red Velvet and Cream Cheese Oreo Cookies

Makes 2 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 bar {4 ounces} cream cheese softened
  • 1 stick {8 tbsp} butter softened
  • ¾ cup Dixie Crystals light brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 12 Red Velvet Oreos crushed
  • 3-4 Red Velvet Oreos broken into small pieces {for topping}
  • red food coloring optional

Instructions

  • Add cream cheese, softened butter, and brown sugar to a mixer bowl.
  • Blend on medium speed until smooth.
  • With the mixer running, slowly add flour, a little at a time until fully combined.
  • If you want a more pronounced red color, add 10-20 drops red food coloring and stir in.
  • Pour crushed Oreos into the bowl and gently stir in by hand.
  • Scoop the dough ball onto a sheet of plastic wrap and wrap up.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Scoop and roll batter into small balls and place on a lined baking sheet.
  • Gently press to flatten cookies if you like them more flat and large. If you want small round cookies leave them as balls.
  • Press a few pieces of broken Oreos on top of each cookie.
  • Bake for 12 minutes then let cool slightly on the baking sheet before removing to a rack to cool completely.

When I saw these Oreo cookies on the shelf I knew I wanted to make a valentine’s themed dessert with them! I am a sucker for the fun seasonal flavored Oreo cookies. What is your favorite flavor?

I crush 12 Red Velvet Oreo cookies in a food processor until crushed.

I leave a few chunks and cream centers for texture.

Add cream cheese, softened butter, and brown sugar to a mixer bowl.

Blend on medium speed until smooth.

With the mixer running, slowly add flour, a little at a time until fully combined.

If you want a more pronounced red color, add 10-20 drops red food coloring and stir in.

Pour crushed Oreos into the bowl and gently stir in by hand.

Scoop the dough ball onto a sheet of plastic wrap and wrap up.

Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Unwrap the dough and using a small scoop and your hands, roll batter into small balls.

Place on a lined baking sheet spaced apart.

Gently press to flatten cookies if you like them more flat and large.
If you want small round cookies leave them as balls.

Press a few pieces of broken Oreos on top of each cookie.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

Let cool slightly on the baking sheet before removing to a rack to cool completely.

Happy Valentine’s Day and thanks for helping us raise funds for pediatric cancer research with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! You can help us by donating!

How interesting!! I would have never thought to use a cookie to make another cookie!! The new Red Velvet Oreos look interesting… they are on the "to try" list in our house, but of course, the Mega Stuffed and the Most Stuffed had to come first. I guess that happens with all boys. 😉

🍽 Yesterday we enjoyed lunch at NCAL+H2O, an upscale seafood gem of a restaurant in downtown Rolla. It was a delicious meal and everything this Florida girl has been craving!
🐟 We started with an order of amazing Tuna Poke Nachos then shared a Grilled Shrimp Club sandwich with fries and a tasty salad with house garlic parm dressing. We couldn't stop there so we also split a bowl of cioppino, which was chock full of fresh seafood. Next time I want to try their Parmesan Halibut or Seafood Pasta!
❤ If you are looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate an anniversary or have a quiet date night (or day date like us) check out @saltwaterrollamo !
⭐ Lunch was courtesy of @rolladowntown. I was a winner of $100 in downtown dollars in their Tis the Season of Giving contest!

🥡 We tried @doordash for the first time during our stay in Branson tonight. It really saved us time and energy running around town and delivery was free! We ordered ramen, bi bim bap, and lo mein from a local Asian restaurant called Noodle 21. It was delish! Check them out if you are in the area and send me a message if you want a referral for $5 off to try #doordash ! @noodle21branson #eatlocal #branson #takeoutfood #whatsfordinner
