This Spaghetti Pie is hearty and delicious and a crowd pleaser for sure!
Even better it feeds up to six people and costs just $10 to make!

 Ingredients:

Makes approx 6-8 servings
  • 8 oz uncooked spaghetti {I like the pot size smaller noodles}
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened and cubed
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Italian mixed cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook spaghetti according to the directions on box. Drain.
  3. In a large bowl add spaghetti, eggs, Parmesan cheese and butter. Mix well.
  4. Using your hands, pat the mixture into a 9-10 inch pie plate to form a crust.
  5. Top crust with cottage cheese and spread to cover.
  6. Add ground beef to a skillet and cook until browned.
  7. Drain and add to a bowl along with the marinara sauce.
  8. Pour the sauce on top of the cottage cheese and spread to cover.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes in the center of the oven.
  10. Remove from oven and sprinkle on 1 cup Italian shredded cheese, covering the top.
  11. Bake for 5 more minutes or until bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  12. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
  13. Serve hot with a side salad and enjoy!

Cook spaghetti according to the directions on box.

I really love Pot-Sized Spaghetti. No more breaking or cutting noodles!

Drain your hot spaghetti noodles then add to a large bowl.
Add beaten eggs, Parmesan cheese and butter.
 Mix well.
Using your hands, pat the mixture into a 9-10 inch pie plate to form a crust.
Top crust with cottage cheese and spread to cover.
Meanwhile add ground beef to a skillet and cook until browned.
Drain grease.
I like to use an affordable but good quality pasta sauce like this one.
I chose a basic Four Cheese flavor so it would be kid friendly.
Drain and add to a bowl along with the marinara sauce.
Pour the sauce on top of the cottage cheese and spread to cover.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle on 1 cup Italian shredded cheese, covering the top.
Bake for 5 more minutes or until bubbly and the cheese is melted.
Hot out of the oven!
Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
Slice and serve warm with a side salad.
That is the face of an excited toddler!
You better believe she ate it all and asked for “More, please!”.

Final Florida lunch with my Dad at a local hotspot: @stewbyseafoodshanty on Okaloosa Island. They have multiple locations but this one is by far my favorite. New, clean, beautiful scenery, and lots of space inside and outside.
🐟🐠🎣
I could eat here every day. Their seafood is the BEST. For lunch we tried their grilled grouper sandwich and seafood combo plate with amberjack, grilled shrimp, fried oysters, and all the sides and sauces to go with it (check out those scrumptious cheese grits)!
🐟🐠🎣
Next door they have a seafood market, gift shop, and new steamer restaurant with steam buckets of shrimp, crab, and flounder with all the fixins. ⬅️ I know what I am ordering next time! Their motto: local fish at local prices. Check them out and thank me later.

🦀 Check out our lunch yesterday at my parents favorite local spot, @soiasianbistro . We tried a variety of items off of their massive updated menu.
🍣 The sushi was by far the best thing we ordered. Another must try is the Shiso Mono appetizer, which is tempura fried Japanese basil leaves stuffed with spiced tuna.
🍤 We also ordered cucumber salad, pork ramen, udon noodles, and chicken katsu curry. All were tasty and big enough to share with the sushi appetizer.
🍜 I recommend checking out Soi Bistro if you are in town and enjoy fresh seafood and Asian dishes like we do. But save it for a date night or special occasion b/c their price point was pretty high for a casual meal. ❤
