Copycat Disney Pineapple Dole Whip {Served Family Style}

It's Disney Week and I have a tasty treat that just about everyone loves when they visit Disney World {and Disney Land too}: the Dole Whip! This delicious soft serve pineapple flavored dessert is the perfect refreshing treat on a hot day at the parks and is only available in a few select locations.

You can find Dole Whip and Dole Whip Floats here:

  • Disney's Polynesian Resort at Pineapple Lanai, the pool refreshment stand, offers Dole Whip and Dole Whip Floats!
  •  Adventureland in Magic Kingdom Park at Disney World. Aloha Isle offers Dole Whip in pineapple, orange, vanilla or swirled.
  • Animal Kingdom's Tamu Tamu in Africa carries delicious African food and Dole Whip soft serve.
  • The Tiki Juice Bar at Disneyland Park serves Dole Whip, fresh pineapple spears, pineapple juice and floats made with Dole Whip.
I knew I had to make our favorite Disney frosty treat this summer at home for my girls.
It was surprisingly easy to make and only requires 2 ingredients! Even better it is dairy free, just as delicious as the original, and has no added sugar!
I fell in LOVE with the Polynesian Resort during my visit! The lobby alone is stunning but the pools, villas, even the landscaping make you feel as if you are really in the tropics!
Another delicious Disney food : Tonga Toast, banana stuffed cinnamon crusted giant French Toast.
Available at the Polynesian Resort. Try the quick service version at Captain Cook's for half the price!

Ingredients:

Make a family size portion {4-6 servings}
  • 4 cups pineapple chunks, frozen
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 whole pineapple
  • 4 maraschino cherries, for topping

Directions:

  1. Cut the pineapple in half and scoop out the flesh {save half of the pineapple and the flesh for another use}. Set aside.
  2. Add the coconut milk {add 1st} and frozen pineapple to a blender {or a food processor}.
  3. Blend until creamy {this will take a while and you may have to scrap the side a few times}.
  4. Scoop the pineapple Dole Whip into your large pineapple half {your bowl} using an ice cream scoop and top with cherries.
  5. You can also freeze for later but let sit out for 10 minute before scooping so it will soften.

Only two ingredients are required to make Dole Whip at home: a 16oz bag of frozen pineapple and a cup of chilled coconut milk.
Add the coconut milk and frozen pineapple to a blender {or a food processor}.
Add the coconut milk first.
Then add the 4 cups of frozen pineapple.
Blend until creamy {this will take a while and you may have to scrap the side a few times}.
Now you should have soft serve Dole Whip!
Scoop the pineapple Dole Whip into your large pineapple half {your bowl} using an ice cream scoop and top with cherries.
You can also freeze for later but let sit out for 10 minute before scooping so it will soften.
No surprise these little cuties loved their Dole Whip dessert!
It was a fun treat to share as a family.
The presentation is fun and this recipe makes enough for the whole family to share!
Bonus: freeze your Dole Whip in molds to make Popsicles!
As good as...or even better... than the original!
