Salty Pork, crunchy Cabbage, sweet Onion and just the right amount of heat!
This is the perfect hearty dish for a cold winter night!

I saw a version of this recipe a while back on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives on Food Network. I thought it sounded like an interesting combination but quickly forgot about it. Then the other night I was searching through my refrigerator and pantry, trying to put together a quick meal for my husband and I and after finding a head of cabbage and a Cajun pork steak in my empty fridge (pretty much all we had in the fridge when we got back from Christmas vacation besides some condiments!) along with some egg noodles and an onion in my pantry, I decided why not give cabbage and noodles a try!
….Ya know what? It was dang good!

This recipe was my #9 most popular recipe in 2013! View the Top 10 here

Cook pork, then drain, and cube into bite size pieces.
Cook down cabbage and onion with butter. Then add seasonings.

I like using No Yolks Egg Noodles for this recipe.
While the cabbage is cooking bring a pot of salted water to boil and cook egg noodles according to package.

Drain noodles and mix into the cabbage mixture along with remaining 2 tbsp of butter.
Add pork and toss to combine and heat through.
Serve warm.

This comforting meal feeds a lot and is delicious as leftovers too.

A delicious, hearty dinner for a cold winter evening!

    Hi Nicole,
I came across your website after searching for a dinner recipe with the ingredients I had on hand. This was AMAZING. We used leftover roasted pork belly for the meat, and I used penne pasta (no egg noodles) but I am adding this to our family's regular roster for great cold weather meals. Thank you!

šŸ³ How fun is this April Fool's Day breakfast egg prank?! My kids love all the silly tricks we do on April 1st so this year I thought of a new one to really fool them. I served "sunny side up eggs" for breakfast, two different ways! Check out the details on the blog. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Time to be transparent. I have been struggling for a while now. I feel like I lost myself years ago. Self worth is so important and I am just now starting to love and focus on me again. I am not striving to be perfect but I am so excited to be a healthier, happier me this year.

My girls and I had a delicious meal at the one of a kind @wellmetcafe . Standouts were the Tokyo Fog drink with yuzu and boba which tasted like Fruit Loops and the amazing Onyx bacon and soft scrambled eggs with creme fraiche.
Next time I can't wait to try the avocado toast and the Taking Back Sunday chicken sandwich. šŸ„‘

One of my favorite quiet spots in all of Missouri - beautiful Roubidoux Springs in Waynesville, MO. We spent so many afternoons here fishing, splashing, hunting for treasures, skipping rocks, having picnics, and cuddling our dogs. I loved being able to visit again yesterday and enjoy the serene environment and warm sunshine. A must see! ā˜€ļø
