"Beauty and the Beast" The Grey Stuff Oreo Mousse

Happy Movie Monday friends! I am excited to share a recipe inspired by March's movie: Disney's Beauty and the Beast. My girls and I can't wait to see the movie on opening weekend and I will be sure to come back and update this post with pics!
I made "The Grey Stuff" which is from my favorite song in the movie, "Be Our Guest" sung by the charming candlestick Luminere.
They serve it at Disney World at the Be Our Guest restaurant as a cookies and cream type mousse on top of a cupcake and on it's own. We loved it during our trip to Disney in 2014 and I can't wait to go back! I experimented with a few recipes but in the end decided homemade whipped cream with pudding and Oreos was just right!

Check out my recipe and the link up with other talented bloggers recipes and crafts inspired by Beauty and the Beast!

Manwich Cheese Shell Sloppy Joe Tacos

It's Manwich Monday, y'all and that means we have a delish Sloppy Joe inspired dinner tonight.
Since my kids love tacos I decided to make Sloppy Joe Tacos and for an added twist {and low carb option} I made the shells out of shredded cheese instead of traditional tortillas!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Manwich for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Mardi Gras Muffuletta Dip #SundaySupper

This is our 5th year living in Louisiana and that means that my foodie family and I have eaten our fair share of Cajun food! My daughters love gator, crawfish, catfish, and jambalaya, just to name a few! During Mardi Gras season we love making Cajun themed meals at home to celebrate. My husband's favorite is the Muffuletta sandwich. I shared my recipe on the blog a few years ago and today I wanted to share a delicious dip inspired by my husband's favorite Cajun delight: Mardi Gras Muffuletta Dip !
This decadent cheesy dip is baked in a hollowed out bread bowl and blended with not only three types of cheese but also olive salad, ham, salami, and spicy capicola. Serve with crusty garlic bread for dipping and you have got the perfect Mardi Gras appetizer to share with friends this Fat Tuesday!

I am excited to be participating in my first Sunday Supper blog post! Please scroll down to see all the Easy Mardi Gras Recipes shared this week from Sunday Supper bloggers.

DIY Date Night In Gift Basket with Redbox

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tyson Foods, Inc.
All opinions are entirely my own.
As a busy Mom with two kiddos under the age of five and a hardworking Army husband, it's safe to say we don't get much time to relax with "just the two of us". So I decided to make this Date Night In Gift Basket as a gift for my husband. We love renting movies at Redbox kiosks every week so I was inspired by this movie night idea. I started with a large popcorn bucket and along with a couple movies from our Redbox kiosk, I added popcorn, candy, homemade snacks, and a bottle of sparkling cider {or wine}. This is not only a great gift for your spouse but also a wonderful gift idea for new parents, friends, neighbors, just about any one and for any occasion too!

If you love Redbox like we do, you are going to love this deal!

7 Layer Gingerbread Treat Bars

And just like that February is almost over!

I am still playing catch up with Valentine's recipes
and Mardi Gras is hot on my heels this weekend!
But before we get to celebrating Fat Tuesday, I want to share this easy peasy recipe I made for my little loves on Valentine's Day along with a few pictures from our always fun Valentine's week. I made these Cherry Shortcakes using leftover homemade cherry pie filling from my As You Wish Glazed Cherry Hand Pies last week. This simple recipe is always a winner with my kiddos no matter what fruit I use. Add a few scoops of warm pie filling to a soft sponge cake shell and top with whipped cream and voila! Dessert is served. Of course, since it was Valentine's Day Ashton made his signature dessert: chocolate dipped strawberries, so we enjoyed those scrumptious treats too.
Scroll down for the recipe and photos.
If that's not enough excitement for one day, I have one more sweet thing to share with y'all: the Galentine's Sweet Progress Box Swap and the goodies I received from my partner!
This was my first time participating and y'all know I love making gift boxes, so this was right up my alley! It is a seasonal gift exchange for bloggers and we are randomly assigned fellow bloggers as partners. For this swap we filled out a short survey on what we like {for me namely tea and chocolate, of course} and then we surprised our partner with a Valentine's themed box for Valentine's Galentine's Day!

Everyone deserves to be happy, right? That was the idea behind my latest gift basket creation.
I have a dear friend from childhood who has been through so much and I wanted to send her something to put a smile on her face and cheer her up. I came up with this Don't Worry Bee Happy Gift Basket idea after finding a few bee themed items at the store.

Mini Strawberry Cheesecake Mason Jars with Chocolate Hearts #FoodBloggerLove

Today I am participating in a fun event with the #FoodBloggerLove group. We are doing a Valentine's Day post swap with another blogger. I was assigned to show some blogger love to Renee at If Spoons Could Talk. Renee makes delicious and healthy food creations on her blog but also has a sweet tooth like me! So I created these adorable Strawberry Cheesecake Jars with my little helper Ava. They are the perfect personal size desserts so you can satisfy your sweet tooth without going overboard! These semi homemade mini desserts are made with store bought cheesecake filling and homemade strawberry sauce and whipped cream. We even made simple chocolate hearts to go on top! Chocolate Butterscotch Haystack Cookies

Y'all know I have a sweet tooth and like any true foodie I like to try new things. So when I experimented with no bake cookies last Christmas and tried a Haystack for the first time, I knew I had found something special. These simple 3-4 ingredient treats are made with melted peanut butter and butterscotch poured over crunchy chow mein noodles. My original recipe was one of my most popular on the blog, so I decided for Valentine's Day I would make a twist on the original Haystacks and switch out chocolate for peanut butter. This also makes them school and church friendly since peanut butter treats are usually not allowed there because of children's allergies.

Try this recipe today. It only takes 5 minutes to make and I bet you'll love them as much as I do!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

This kid friendly smoothie is the perfect breakfast treat to make with your kiddos this Valentine's weekend! Just add a few simple ingredients, blend together until smooth, and you and your sweethearts have a delicious smoothie that tastes like a milkshake but is healthier and lighter!
My little love bugs had their Valentine's pictures taken last week
with the talented Chelsea Aycock Photography.
My oldest princess, Ava, was all smiles and I am IN LOVE with this picture!
Like most kiddos they sometime smile for the camera and cooperate and they sometimes go crazy and try to destroy the place. So as any good Mama knows, you always come prepared with a food bride! ;)

If you are in Texas or Louisiana I highly recommend Chelsea for your family portraits!
Check out her site here: http://www.chelseaaycock.com

Makes a 16oz large smoothie
  • 1 cup strawberry yogurt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 frozen banana,
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries, sliced
  • 1 strawberry, destemmed and thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • whipped cream, for topping {optional}
  • 1 tsp mini chocolate chips, to topping {optional}
  • 1 chocolate dipped strawberry, for topping {optional}

  1. Add yogurt, milk, frozen banana, frozen strawberries, and 2 tbsp chocolate syrup to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. I like to add a few sliced strawberries to the inside sides of my glass first.
  4. Pour into a large glass {or 2 small}.
  5. Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips and if you want to go all out add a chocolate dipped strawberry too!
  6. Add a straw and sip away!
Only a few basic ingredients are needed for this tasty smoothie creation!
I like to use frozen fruit instead of ice.
Add yogurt, milk, frozen banana, frozen strawberries,
and 2 tbsp chocolate syrup to a blender.
Frozen bananas are a staple in my smoothies.
I always store a few peeled bananas in my freezer for quick smoothies any time of day!
Blend until smooth.
I like to add a few sliced strawberries to the inside sides of my glass first.
Adding the sliced strawberries in the glass is optional but it makes for a pretty presentation!
Pour into a large 16 oz glass {or 2 small glasses}.
Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips and if you want to go all out add a chocolate dipped strawberry too!
This healthy version of a decadent milkshake is perfect for sharing with your sweetheart.

Cream Cheese Crab Wontons

I am being compensated by P.F. Chang's Home Menu for my participation in this campaign. As part of the Mom It Forward Blogger Network, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

It's Wok Wednesday and we are stirring up our routine this week! Living in a little military town, we don't get restaurant quality Asian food often. But with  P.F. Chang’s Home Menu frozen meals and appetizers we can have a quick, stress-free meal with authentic, made-from-scratch sauces and vibrant veggies. Recipes are inspired by the P.F. Chang’s Bistro and co-developed with restaurant co-founder Philip Chiang.

The new family size Orange Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice are our two favorites and one bag is plenty for all four of us for dinner. The entire skillet meal is ready in less than 15 minutes and that makes for one happy Mama, especially on a busy weeknight! Tonight since I had some extra time, I decided to make another restaurant inspired dish: Cream Cheese Crab Wontons to go with our Orange Chicken for dinner.
Check out the recipe below and be sure to find new P.F. Chang’s Home Menu family size frozen meals in the freezer section of your local grocery store.

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 4oz chopped imitation crab {or flaked crab meat}
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 diced garlic clove
  • 2 green onions, diced
  • Oil, for frying
  • Sweet chili sauce (or your favorite Asian sauce) for dipping

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the crab, garlic, soy sauce, Worcestershire, cream cheese, and green onions.
  2. Lay out the 24 wonton wrappers and divide the filling between them.
  3. You will use about a tablespoon of filling in each one.
  4. Dip your finger in cold water and wet the outside edge of the wonton wrappers.
  5. Pinch the edges together to seal, and try to get all the air out as you do this.
  6. You can either gather them up moneybag-style or fold them over to make triangles.
  7. Deep-fry the crab wontons in oil heated to 350 degrees F, in batches.
  8. Each batch will only take about 30 seconds.
  9. Drain on a paper towel lined plate.
  10. Serve warm with chili sauce for dipping.
The Orange Chicken meal was a hit in our home!
It has a hint of spice but both girls loved the flavorful sauce, big juicy pieces of chicken, and crunchy veggies.
Signature Pork Dumplings are made with ground pork, shredded cabbage, sliced scallions and a  Signature Sauce. We love these as an appetizer or lunch meal.
Stella, who loves eating with her hands as most toddlers do, enjoyed dipping the dumplings and making a mess! It was a messy but good meal for her!
It doesn't get much easier than adding yuor skillet meal to a pan or wok and heating for less than 15 minutes!
My delicious Cream Cheese Crab Wontons are easy to make and the perfect side dish to go with P.F.Chang's Home Menu skillet meals and appetizers.

In a large bowl, mix together the crab, garlic, soy sauce,
Worcestershire, cream cheese, and green onions.
Lay out the 24 wonton wrappers and divide the filling between them.
You will use about a tablespoon of filling in each one.
Dip your finger in cold water and wet the outside edge of the wonton wrappers.
Pinch the edges together to seal, and try to get all the air out as you do this.
You can either gather them up moneybag-style or fold them over to make triangles.
Deep-fry the crab wontons in oil heated to 350 degrees F, in batches.
Each batch will only take about 30 seconds.
Drain on a paper towel lined plate.
Serve warm with chili sauce for dipping.
Once the Orange Chicken was heated, I served it in a large bowl for everyone to serve themselves.
I added cooked rice to my Orange Chicken and it was delicious drizzled in the sauce.
Bet you can't have just one dumpling!
The girls didn't want to share but I managed to sneak one!
Dinner is served and boy it was delicious!
